WorldLink reaches 9 lakh customers, a monumental milestone

WorldLink, Nepal’s elite internet service provider (ISP) has announced reaching 9 lakh customers. The new statistic further solidifies the private ISP’s stronghold in the country as a leading FTTH fiber internet provider. It’s Nepal’s largest internet provider in terms of customer base and the third-largest telecom company.  

Releasing a press statement, WorldLink said that its connectivity reached 9 lakh households. The monumental milestone makes it the first ISP in Nepal to reach the benchmark status. The company was launched in 1995 around the time when the internet was just beginning to tap into the market. However, WorldLink not only improved but gradually transformed the internet landscape in the country. The company has registered this historical figure in 29 years of service. Over the years, dozens of companies have opened their services with a few being the best ISPs in Nepal. WorldLink though has continued to stand out for its quality services and customer care.

Despite current dominance, WorldLink had a humble beginning

Since its inception, the ISP has remained at the forefront of offering innovative internet services. Firstly, its service started with email then transitioned to cutting-edge high-speed, and high-quality fiber internet service. The company started humbly with email services but now, it provides a host of internet solutions making a glorious journey from the days of dial-up, cable internet, wireless internet, and the revolutionary FTTH fiber internet in 2014. The continuous drive for innovation, high-quality service, customer care, etc. has made it a household name in the country’s telecommunication sector.

WorldLink has extended its services to 73 districts with 130 branches. The customer growth likewise, has taken on a continuous growth with the first 1 lakh user base achieved in May 2017. The company reached an astounding 9 lakh customer base in April 2024. “WorldLink’s rapid expansion is a testament to its dedication to providing reliable and high-speed internet access to communities across the nation,” the company’s presser said.

WorldLink boasts a strong network of 5300+ employees serving with excellence setting high standards in customer satisfaction. Besides serving residential customers, WorldLink also provides various internet solutions to major industries, banking and finance sectors, and government offices with its enterprise internet.  

To propel its further growth, WorldLink has also landed a combined Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from British International Investment and Dolma Impact worth around Rs 2 billion. This partnership has enabled the company to enhance its infrastructure and strengthen its capacity.

WorldLink 9 lakh customers benchmark: A way to the future commitment

Going forward, WorldLink is committed to expanding its internet services to more remote parts of Nepal to help bridge the digital divide. The company is likewise, equally committed to empowering communities through connectivity and opportunities. In Nepal’s ISP market, WorldLink alone occupies 35% market share and accounts for 40% of Nepal’s internet traffic consumption. The company stresses priority in connecting people and enriching lives through technology.
