iPhone 17 series launched

Apple launched the iPhone 17 series at its Awe-Dropping event in Cupertino, California, on September 8, 2025. The new generation series comes with improvements in display, including a 120 Hz refresh rate, and major design changes in the camera module, while also bringing new course in memory aspects. The phone should launch in Nepal after a short while. Therefore, let’s explore all about these phones.

iPhone 17 series price

The iPhone 17 price starts at $799 for 8/256 GB. The Plus variant replacer iPhone Air (2025) starts at $999. Similarly, the largely unchanged iPhone 17 Pro model costs $1,099, meaning that it got pricier by $100 and now comes with 256 GB of storage at the base. The top-notch iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at $1,199 with 8/256 GB specs.

  • iPhone 17: Starts at $799
  • iPhone Air: Starts at $999
  • iPhone 17 Pro: Starts at $1,099, which is hiked by $100 from iPhone 16 Pro
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max: Starts at $1,199. Same price starting with 256 GB of storage

iPhone 17 model specifications and features

The iPhone 17 makes a big impact with some monumental design changes. The iPhone 17 base model features a vertical pill-shaped camera bar. Similarly, the iPhone Air, the thinnest lineup yet, has a horizontal camera bar housing a single fusion camera. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max feature a horizontal camera bar but with a triple-camera setup. In terms of material, the iPhone Air is the only one that uses a titanium frame. The other three variants use aluminum. All get Ceramic Shield 2-layer for screen protection.

The iPhone Air is just 5.6 mm thick, which makes it the slimmest iPhone ever. The iPhone 17 base model is 7.9 mm, and the iPhone 17 Pro models are 8.75 mm thick. The Air lineup is just 165 grams, while the iPhone 17 is 177 grams. The iPhone 17 Pro is 206 grams, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max is 233 grams.

The iPhone 17 models feature an LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display, and the good thing is that all of them now use a 120 Hz refresh rate and share 3000 nits of peak brightness and come with an anti-reflective coating to ease viewing even under direct sunlight. In terms of size, the iPhone 17 Pro Max features a 6.9-inch screen while the Pro and base models get 6.3-inch treatment up from iPhone 16. The iPhone Air comes with a 6.5-inch screen.

All the iPhone 17 lineups boot on iOS 26, but what’s so interesting is that while all these support Apple Intelligence, the company didn’t commit much to the AI discussions. Anyway, Visual Intelligence, Live Translation, summarization tools, are all available across these iPhones.

iPhone 17 lineup cameras

The iPhone 17 Pro models all have 48 MP cameras in a triple-camera setup upped from 12 MP on iPhone 16 Pro Max. It comprises one wide, one periscope telephoto with 4x optical zoom, and an ultrawide shooter. The new 48 MP telephoto camera should be one highlight on these Pro models this year.

The base variant iPhone 17 features two 48 MP cameras, a wide and ultrawide one, while the iPhone Air is equipped with a single 48 MP fusion camera working like multiple cameras. On the front, all the iPhone 17 devices feature 18 MP selfie shooters.

Processor, Memory, and Battery

The iPhone 17 Pro models come with A19 Pro (3nm) chipset, while the iPhone Air and the base model iPhone 17 run on A19 CPU. All the hexa-core systems mean they have six cores. The Pro models feature 12 GB of RAM, and storage starts at 256 GB. The iPhone 17 Pro Max storage options max at 2 TB, while the Pro-only lineup comes with up to 1 TB storage. Likewise, the iPhone Air and iPhone 17 feature 8 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB of storage. There’s no 128 GB storage limitation this year.

In terms of battery, the iPhone 17 Pro Max comes with 4832mAh for nano SIM and 5088 for eSIM only model, while the Pro variant comes with 3988mAh for nano SIM and 4252mAh for eSIM model. The difference in the battery capacity is due to the use and the lack of a SIM slot. Not having a physical SIM card slot releases additional space to use a larger capacity battery. The iPhone 17 and iPhone Air feature 3692mAh and 3149mAh batteries, respectively.

The iPhone 17 Pro and base models feature 25W wireless and 4.5W reverse wired charging. Apple claims that the Pro models can be charged up to 50% in under 30 minutes. Likewise, the iPhone Air device supports 20W wireless and 4.5W reverse wired charging.
