Apple Airpods 3 Unveiled, Comes With Spatial 3D Audio

Apple Inc has unveiled its 3rd generation of TWS earphones, Airpods 3 in a launch event of Mac & Music. The new Airpods 3 derives its design language from Airpods Pro but seemingly offering better audio quality & performance. Airpods 3 Overview

Airpods 3 comes with a “contour” design for comfortability with all ears. Packing in the onboard controls, the force sensor on the stalk enables the control of music playback on the go. One can play, pause, skip songs, or answer-end calls with a press. There is a hands-free Siri access option too.

It also features a cool skin-detect sensor that makes it play while it is in someone’s ear. Once it is placed on a table, the music stops automatically. Furthermore, the pairing has become hassle-free with automatic pairing nearby Apple devices. IPX4 rating is there to protect it against sweat & water damages.

H1 Chip, Adaptive EQ & Spatial Audio

Airpods 3 houses a powerful H1 chip inside. As Apple claims, the users can hear powerful bass along with clean & crisp high frequencies via its custom driver & high dynamic range amplifier. Also, the H1 chip grants computational audio like Adaptive EQ & Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking.

Adaptive EQ tunes sound in real-time depending on how the AirPods fit in the user’s ears. The microphones are inward-facing which can monitor sound & Adaptive EQ tunes the low & mid frequencies to output amazing audio. As a result, the audio quality remains decent even if the AirPods are not placed perfectly inside the user’s ears.

The Spatial Audio technology is a 3D surround sound with Dolby Atmos producing theater experience via immersive audio output. Dynamic head tracking of the Airpods 3 enables decent sound quality for music, video & Facetime calls. It follows the movement of the head and outputs its 3D surround sound as per the movement.

Airpods 3 Battery Life

The battery life as Apple claims is up to 6 hours of music playback on a single charge, an extra hour more than the 5 hours battery backup of its predecessor. The charging case is capable of fast charging. So, charging the Airpods 3 for 5 minutes is said to provide one hour of listening time. There are additional four charge cycles, totaling up to 30 hours of on-the-go playtime. Coming with MagSafe support, one can charge the case with the same wireless charger of iPhone 12 or iPhone 13.

Airpods 3 Price & Availability

The price of Airpods 3 is set at $179 for the preorder in the United States and shipping begins on October 26th. In India, the preorder price is INRs.18,500 on Apple India Online Store and it will go on sale from Tuesday, October 26th.
