Infinix Hot 50i is now available in Nepal. The entry-level Android phone comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 6.7-inch display, a 48 MP main camera, 5000mAh battery, among other specs. While most are standard issue features, they still making it into a highly affordable device raises its bar. Here, we detail the phone’s major features, design, specifications, and official price in Nepal.

Infinix Hot 50i Specifications

Design and Display

The Infinix Hot 50i is a compact phone in terms of size. It runs the dimensions of 165.7 x 77.1 x 8.1 mm and weighs 184 grams. The phone uses plastic for the rear panel and frames while the screen is composed of glass. The delightful aspect of the phone? Its back design houses two cameras in a big square camera bar. Let’s also add that the gradient color tone gives the phone a sleek and gracious look.

Coming to the display, the phone stretches 6.7-inch and the display reaches 500 nits of peak brightness. But it’s an IPS LCD screen and not AMOLED. Anyway, a good aspect of the screen is that it gets a 120 Hz refresh rate which is a premium feature of smartphone displays these days. The aspect ratio of the phone stands at 720 x 1600 pixels which we also call HD screen.

Performance

Not a major deal here but as expected too. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio G81, a midrange 12 nm silicon but also quite potent in the budget range smartphones. The chipset comprises eight cores with two cores running at 2.0 GHz and the remaining six clocking at 1.7 GHz. In terms of other resources, it’s got 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage which can be expanded to 1 TB with a microSD card. On the software front, the phone boots on XOS 14.5 which is a custom skin based on Android 14.

Camera

The phone’s photography is headed by a 48 MP camera on the back which is easily one of its major attractions. Likewise, the camera gets an auxiliary lens to complement photos. The front, likewise, features an 8 MP camera for selfies and videos. There’s not much to talk about cameras but hey, a 48 MP camera does offer high-resolution images.

Battery and Connectivity

The phone is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery capacity which is good enough to serve at least a day. In addition, an 18W fast-charging support should make things further better. You should be equally delighted that the phone also supports reverse wired and bypass charging. Infinix Hot 50i is a 4G phone so it connects to a 4G LTE network and doesn’t worry it supports band 20 connectivity. Likewise, there’s Bluetooth, dual-band WiFi 5, GPS, and USB Type-C 2.0 for different connectivity features. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack but no infrared port.

Our Verdict

Infinix Hot 50i Nepal

Infinix Hot 50i is a new and ambitious budget phone in Nepal that shall command respect for some of its appealing features. 120 Hz refresh rate, 5000mAh battery, and 48 MP camera are some of them. However, it’s an IPS LCD screen and despite it having its good sides, it’s really not the most favorite for many (sic). Then, a lack of a FUL HD display might be another downer but by no means, do these few cons break the deal. At this price, you are getting solid hardware for a phone. You can also check out other top phones under Rs 15000 in Nepal.

The phone goes head-to-head with other budget contenders such as Redmi 14C and Oppo A3x. So, you could find it difficult to make your choice.

So, what do you think of the Infinix Hot 50i for its price and specifications? Does the phone offer value for its price or leave you wanting more? Do share your honest opinion in the comment section below.

Being a technophile, I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of mobile networks in Nepal from legacy networks (2G, 3G) to 4G (with VoLTE, VoWiFi, eSIM) and the prospects of the upcoming 5G, and equally enthralled by the development of internet from the dial-up connection to the 2 Gbps XGS-PON fiber broadband technology and their transformative impact in the country.
