MSM Video, a new OTT platform with app was launched to cater to Nepali audiences with a dose of entertainment content including Kollywood movies. The service available on smartphone, tablet, and Apple TV, already has some exciting Nepali movies and is set to bring aboard more in the near future. I have started using the app and will share important information about it. Here’s how you can start watching content on MSM Video, my review, movie costs, subscription models, payment options, and its prospects in Nepal’s OTT market.

MSM Video App Boasts Some Blockbuster Content
MSM Video app self-describes it as premium, the content does tend to reflect that. The platform boasts current popular movies such as Jwai Saab, Chhakka Panja 5, Bulbul, Mahajatra, Khusma, Hrashwo Deergha, Agastya, Farki Farki, Pardeshi 2, Senti Virus, etc. Movies such as 12 Gaun and Rangi will soon arrive on this thriving and evolving platform.
Another popular Kollywood movie Jante Bakhro is releasing on MSM Video on Friday, August 1, 2025. It says that it will have an overall inventory of over 1,000 movies, 20,000+ music videos, and over 50 TV series, plus plenty more.
Behuli from Meghauli on OTT, after 23 days of film release
In its early days, MSM Video played Behuli from Meghauli to a roaring success. The film was streamed first on the platform on Friday, October 25, 2024. The arrival was pre-announced by the film’s producer and actor Nischal Basnet. Expressing his bemusement over the lack of shows given to his film, he expressed his gratitude to all the audience who watched the movie in the cinema but pulled the movie off large screens on October 17, 2024.
Behuli from Meghauli’s coming to the OTT benefitted both the movie and the platform itself. As the movie got an alternative platform for its runtime, it also raised the app’s stakes for sure.
Stay informed that the app can be downloaded by users across the world including in the USA, Japan, Canada, and Singapore where it was not available previously. Therefore, audiences in these countries can watch the movie in cinemas.
Steps to Create an Account on MSM Video
Some users have stated that they faced difficulty during the signing-up process as they couldn’t get the OTP. I had the same experience but got an effective workaround (more on that below). Anyway, here are the steps to sign up for MSM Video:
- Launch the app
- Tap on Sign Up
- Enter your email and password then tap on Sign Up
- Now, you receive an OTP on your email
- Enter the OTP on the app to get your account verified
- Now, you can enter the app subscribe to its content, and watch them on the go
NOTE: The OTP issue seems well resolved now. But if you can’t see the OTP in the inbox section of your email account, it may be found in the Spam folder.
Below, I explore the costs of movie subscriptions, the number of devices supported, payment options, etc.

Movie Rent Costs, Subscription, and Number of Devices Allowed
You can buy two movies for four days at Rs 350 or you can buy 3 movies for 6 days for Rs 480. You get four movies with 10 day validity for Rs 600. If you choose to rent just one movie, it costs Rs 199 for a day and Rs 249 for seven days.
Likewise, you can choose a 3 month subscription plan for Rs 1,999. It supports streaming on up to 3 devices and you get ensured high-quality content with ad-free streaming. The six month plan costs Rs 3,499 and the annual plan costs Rs 5,999. These plans also support the streaming on 3 different devices.

You can access MSM Video content on Smartphones, tablets, and smart TV platforms such as Google TV, androidtv, Roku, firetv, TIZEN, etc.
Diverse Payment Options
MSM Video app provides three different payment options in terms of geographical locations. Subscribers in Nepal can pay for their subscriptions on eSewa, Khalti and Nabil Bank. Those in India can use Google Pay, Paytm, PhonePe, and JioMoney. For users beyond Nepal and India, Visa and Master card options are available for payment.
My App Experience
It’s better, now
Initially, the app passed on a mixed experience to me. When I tried to test the app, I couldn’t sign up as I couldn’t get OTP. But I was thankful for their cooperation. They were quick enough to address it for me by providing me with an OTP.
The company provides OTP code personally in case it doesn’t work for users. I DM’ed them on Facebook Messenger and got a working OTP code which finally enabled me to sign up and sign in to the app. You can do the same as well if you don’t get the OTP.
But fast forward to 2025, MSM Video sign up process is rather easy and efficient. You don’t need to wait for OTP and customer service has become even more responsive. At least, that’s what I experienced.

On The Brighter Side
On a positive note, the app looks like the result of quite some intuitive work. It allows login with a QR code. The interface makes it easy to navigate through options. I would say it’s a minimalist and effective design. The top of the app has options of “All”, “Movies”, “Series”, “Free”, and “More” while on the bottom, there are “Home”, “News & Blogs”, “My Rentals”, “Deals”, and “Search” options.
The “More” option on the top lets you find content according to different genres. For now, there’s thin content available but that shall pile up with time. The movie you download is stored in Downloads so you can easily access them.
What’s also impressive is that when I tap on a movie, it not only gives me the option to rent it but I can also watch its trailer. Likewise, I can also add the movie to “My List”, share it to social networks, see the movie’s cast and crew, and read its synopsis.
Additionally, the key options are easily available through the tabs so I find it to be a user-friendly UI. The available movies are placed on the home screen making things easier for users. Another good thing: As with other video streaming apps MSM Video subscribers can watch its content on smartphones, tablets, web browsers, and TVs.
Unlike earlier, there’s no need to mirror the screen as you can watch the content directly on your TV. The app even promises to deliver movies in up to 8K resolution and offer 24/7 customer service. In a nutshell, the app gives quite a comprehensive user experience.
Our Conclusion: MSM Video does have a space to shine!
The OTT industry is not crowded or fully matured yet in Nepal. Only a few domestic OTT video platforms have made names such as Cinemaghar and NetTV that offer Nepali as well as foreign movies, web series, and other content. Netflix, though, still remains the most prominent. Therefore, MSM Video does have the potential to claim its space in the industry. And the way it looks right now, it’s seemingly the fastest-growing streaming platform.
The content catalogue, especially for movies, continues to grow on MSM Video. I can see some of the most popular recent Nepali movies on this. Therefore, I can even recommend that you buy at least three month of subscription which won’t be a let down as new flicks such as “12 Gaun” and others will be available on it.
And that shall be a positive thing too. Having competition results in better products and services. Competitiveness can have an overall positive impact that’s good for both companies and customers. In terms of competition, it might contest another new OTT platform Kantipur Cinemas which was unveiled in October 2023.
In Nepal, more Nepali filmmakers have felt the need for commercial OTT platforms that can be alternatives to film halls. So, there’s a need for more OTT platforms that can elevate the digital entertainment scene to the next level. Let’s hope that MSM Video can be the next big platform for digital content.
