Nepal Telecom (NTC) has been distributing the FTTH line with internet and voice service in different parts of the country. At first, high-speed internet speed was available in Kathmandu and then they expanded it to more cities and then districts. Now the Ntc Fiber internet service, also called FTTH is available in 76 districts in Nepal with the latest expansion being in Mugu.
On Sunday, Jestha 06, 2081, the communication minister Rekha Sharma virtually inaugurated Ntc’s FTTH service in the Mugu district. The occasion also had the presence of Ntc Managing Director Mrs. Sangita Pahadi, high-ranking officials from the MoCIT, and Ntc’s officials representing various districts. To bring its popular service to the remote district, Ntc has set up an optical fiber network in Mugu’s district headquarters Gamgadhi. With this expansion, the government seeks to enrich communication services in the remote district, that too at a subsidized rate. Also, the Mugu expansion means Ntc’s popular FTTH service is one to go for Nepal-wide coverage barring Humla.
Currently, the service is live with the network capable of delivering internet and telephone services for 1,000 lines. But since it’s a microwave transmission, TV service is not available yet. However, it’s likely to be rolled out quite soon, that after the backbone transmission be done via optical fiber.
Earlier, the company had launched the service in Dolpa. Communication minister Rekha Sharma virtually launched the state-backed telco’s FTTH service in Dolpa from Singha Durbar. The latest expansion to Mugu is a milestone for the country and the company for full coverage of fiber communication. Ntc is effectively replacing its copper-based services with an FTTH fiber network to unlock high-quality services. With fiber, the company provides Triple Play for high-speed broadband, voice, and IPTV services. With it, customers can expect better, more efficient, and more reliable communication services.

Ntc FTTH customers can now use triple play service through the Fiber FTTH line, with 3 services namely high-speed internet, telephone, and NT TV (IPTV) which the company brands as Triple Play.
