With the availability of giant ISPs like WorldLink, Vianet, Subisu, and Nepal Telecom, few TV service providers have also entered the internet service business. Recently Dish Home join the race with its internet service in the town. And now Prabhu Group has started providing internet service in Kathmandu, which is known to expand to more areas. They have named their new fiber internet service as “Prabhu Net”. Prabhu Digital (Digital wing of Prabhu Group) seems to be investing more and expanding their business in this sector.
Prabhu is the first company to use DVB-T2 broadcasting technology in its Prabhu TV. Now they are using Wireless and Fiber to The Home (FTTH) technology in their Prabhu Net. Both of these services fall under Prabhu Digital and you can subscribe both in one package.
Prabhu Digital has merged with Barahi Internet Technologies to provide internet service. However, the competition will be tough for Prabhu Net because there are a lot of competitors out there.
Prabhu Digital will offer Free IPTV in subscriptions to any of the internet packages. So, you can get fibre internet with Free TV service over the same line, which is with the majority of the ISPs.

The service is only rolled out in certain areas inside Kathmandu Valley. Prabhu Digital is starting from locations where there are a higher number of Prabhu TV subscribers. They will be expanding their service coverage over time. First, they will slowly calculate and cover Kathmandu Valley than will move towards other districts. This may take time but it surely will.

Prabhu Group is known for its easy and flexible payment system. Using technology in payment has been their key part in the business. It’s the same with this service. You can pay directly at the office located at Kamaladi, Kathmandu or you can pay via online using the Prabhu Pay app, e-Sewa app, Khalti app, and QPay.
Now Digital TV service providers are being involved in Internet service business which will definitely make the sector quite competitive. But it’s good for people because competition allows people to enjoy fast and reliable internet at a cheap price.
