Redmi A1 & Redmi A1+ Launched in Nepal, Find Price and Specs

Xiaomi Nepal has launched the Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+ phones in Nepal. New additions to the budget lineup, Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+ come with entry-level features. The phones arrive with near-stock Android OS instead of MIUI and have a Mediatek Helio A22 chip. Let’s know more about Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+ price in Nepal, specs, features, & availability.

Design and Display

Both phones boast an entry-level design language with a plastic frame, plastic back, and a glass front. But the back panel has a texture leather-type design on it. As expected, it is not leather but looks better with that design. Also, the camera module is clean and resembles its expensive siblings. There is a power key and volume rockers on the right side. Redmi A1+ has a fingerprint scanner on the back while the Redmi A1 misses out on one.

Coming to the front side, both devices house a 6.52-inch LCD panel with a teardrop notch. It is an HD+ panel with 1600 x 720 pixels and has a peak brightness of 400 nits. There is a static 60Hz refresh rate here and the screen-to-body ratio is 88.89%. As an entry-level phone, it has a bigger chin on the bottom.

Performance

Both phones pack in the power of an Helio A22 chipset. It is an entry-level chip with a 12nm architecture build. For the configuration, the silicon is a Quad-core processor with 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 cores. On the graphics side, there is an IMG PowerVR GE-class GPU. Redmi has opted for the Android 12 Go edition on this phone instead of MIUI. So, the phone provides a near-stock Android experience which is also lighter for the quad-core chipset. For memory config, the phone comes in only a 2/32GB variant. The RAM and internal storage types are LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage respectively.

Camera

Coming to the optics, both phones sport a dual camera setup on the rear side. The primary camera is an 8MP resolution and the secondary camera is a 2MP depth-sensing unit. For selfies, both phones boast a 5MP front camera on the teardrop notch. The company has not mentioned videography capabilities, but it’s likely that it could shoot max at HD resolution at 30fps.

Battery, Charging, and Other Specs

Both siblings get their juice from a 5000mAh battery. The company is claiming it to last for 30 days standby time. And both come with a 10W charger bundled in the box. Talking about other specs, the phones come with Dual 4G connectivity, Dual VoLTE, VoWifi, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 2.4Ghz, GPS, AGPS, Glonass, and Beidou for connectivity. Also, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, Micro USB port, and single speaker on these phones.

The phones sound like a good deal in the price segment (phones under Rs 15000) with a clean Android 12 Go OS. They are the same phones except for a fingerprint scanner on the back. If one needs a fingerprint scanner, it is wiser to add 500 rupees and go for the Redmi A1+. While the Redmi A1 is also more than enough for target customers. Also, the dual 4G and VoLTE connectivity become appreciable here on both phones. And all the other specs are also commendable for entry-level devices.
