Almost six months since the launch of one of the flagship killers from a brand that had almost ceased bringing flagships in the market where their stronghold is the mid-range segment. We are talking about Redmi K20 Pro, the phone that appeared assuring at its launch time particularly, given what it came packed with for the price, but is it still a prominent decision now?
Furthermore, Mi Nepal has offered a cash discount of Rs. 3000 on the purchase of this smartphone as a valentine offer which is valid till the 14th of February. The new price of Redmi K20 Pro after the cash discount is Rs. 46,999 for the 8/256GB variant.
This isn’t going to be that regular feedback on everything on the phone, and here are my thoughts about the phone on things that I still like after using it for quite a while.
The Redmi K20 Pro was different from the regular Redmi phones at the time launch. This was the first Redmi smartphone to come with Aura Prism design which looks quite exciting. The stunning looking glass front and back are shielded with Gorilla Glass 5 that makes the phone sturdy. The Redmi K20 Pro comes in three colors — Flame Red, Glacier Blue, and Carbon Fiber Black.
This smartphone is still one of the great phones available in the market when we talk about the overall performance in every aspect. Regardless of the kind of usage, it is still a great performer. Playing games for at least a couple of hours every day has become my daily activity and its efficiency hasn’t decreased yet. The phone doesn’t get warmed up much, and the headphone jack has served to better.
K20 Pro is one of the first devices from Redmi to come with an AMOLED display. The display used be the major issue in the Redmi phones previously. With the Redmi K20 Pro, Xiaomi resolves this intricacy. The screen of the Redmi K20 Pro becomes sufficiently illuminated in all conditions.
I wouldn’t call this the best in the market because it is far from that but at least in this price range, there are only a few good phones that offer a great quality display and the K20 Pro is one of them.
Redmi K20 Pro is also the first Redmi phone to come with the pop-up camera on the front. The key highlight of the pop-up camera mechanism of the Redmi K20 Pro is the LED lights that glow when you turn on the front camera which is placed on the sides of it. The LED lights make the pop-camera of the Redmi K20 Pro look beautiful. The sibling of this handset, Redmi K20 lacks this feature.
Xiaomi recently provided MIUI 11 based on Android 10 on this device. This is unquestionably a big improvement from the previous MIUI version. Based on Android 10, the MIUI 11 brings in some wonderful enhancements to the features and a couple of them also include ones that take advantage of the AMOLED display given here.
Yet again, the first Redmi phone to come with three cameras on the rear. The Redmi K20 Pro comes with a 48-megapixel primary camera that uses Sony IMX586 primary sensor (f/1.75 aperture), an ultra-wide camera with a 13-megapixel sensor, and an 8-megapixel camera with a 2X telephoto lens. The picture taken from this device is quite impressive in good lighting conditions. Although the phone performs well in low lighting conditions, sometimes it struggles a bit.
Most of us do not know that the Redmi K20 Pro is capable of 27W charging speed. Redmi has included the 18W charger in the box and this is not bad either. I suggest you spend that extra Rs. 1000 to get the 27W charger, you’ll see the contrast. I have never used the 18W charger since I got a 27W one, and the charging speed is, it flies. The smartphone comes packed with a 4000mAh battery and this easily holds your moderate to heavy tasks for a day or more.
A lot of us have heard the term buttery smooth and you will understand the term more precisely after you use the K20 Pro. Snapdragon 855 along with 8GB of RAM can do almost everything with ease. K20 Pro, here again, top the chart as the first smartphone from Redmi to be powered by a flagship processor from Qualcomm.
Although Mi Nepal launched a single variant of Redmi K20 Pro in Nepal we have nothing to complain about the pricing of this amazing handset. The phone is available in Nepal in every nooks and corner easily. You are getting an 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage variant of the phone at the price of 46,999. Isn’t it great? Hats off Mi Nepal for bringing this great phone in Nepal. Don’t forget to check the latest price list of Xiaomi phones in Nepal too.
