Samsung is also gearing up for its Galaxy S25 series which shall release in early 2025. The series likely brings the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 +, and the magnum opus Galaxy S25 Ultra. These phones generate huge interest and curiosity globally with their specs and features. Here, we talk about the Galaxy S25 Ultra from what we have heard in the rumors and leaks.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will compete with the recently launched iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pixel 9 Pro XL. And let’s not forget the new tri-fold beast Huawei Mate XT. For the S25 Ultra, we are looking at a new Snapdragon processor, and OS improvements, and are also curious about the satellite communication integration. Let’s delve into the Galaxy S24 Ultra rumors, specifications, and possible price in Nepal.
Design and display
Recent rumors suggest that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will sport flat sides, unlike the Galaxy S24 Ultra whose sides were rounded. That is, Samsung might go all FLAT for its next-best phone and extend the flat and sharp design one notch up. Likewise, grade 5 Titanium frames could adorn the sides of the upcoming Ultra phone.
It’s also suggested that the phone will be lighter, weighing 219 grams over S24 Ultra’s 232 grams. Popular leakser @UniverseIce claims that the phone will carry a 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2 mm dimension. The newly leaked images tend to show the phone’s boxier design and camera lenses are visible in these new leaks.
The newly launched iPhone 16 Pro Max is 227 grams. We don’t have much on display front but we expect it to carry the same or even further improved anti-reflection screen and 6.8-inch display. The iPhone 16 Pro Max features a 6.9-inch screen so, let’s see how Samsung goes on the display front.
Other than that, we don’t expect many changes in design from the predecessor, or at least, that’s much we have got so far.

Performance
One of the biggest and most likely changes shall be in the chipset department. Samsung is expected to use Qualcomm’s next-flagship SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for the S25 Ultra phone. There are also suggestions that it could use the same chipset for all markets meaning NO EXYNOS VARIANTS! Samsung traditionally uses the latest greatest chipset from Qualcomm and from what we have noticed in recent years, the company may use an overclocked For Galaxy variant of the Snapdragon chipset.
Qualcomm will launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in mid-October at the Snapdragon Summit. Various flagship phones will rock this processor including the next big thing Galaxy S25 Ultra. The chipset should come with a faster processor, better GPU handling, gaming capacity, improved vapor chamber, and battery life boost.
In terms of RAM and memory, Samsung is likely to continue with the 12 GB of RAM and starting storage of 256 GB to 1 TB.
It’s also possible that Samsung will bring the S25 Ultra with Android 15-based One UI 7.1 which will complement several features and security measures on the device.
Satellite connectivity, finally
Samsung was expected to introduce satellite communication in the S24 series, however, that didn’t happen. Qualcomm stopping its Snapdragon Satellite might have also contributed to it. Anyway, Samsung has introduced a two-way satellite communication feature so, we expect the brand to integrate this feature in the S25 Ultra lineup finally.
Ice Universe recently posted about a certification S24 series got from the Chinese 3C certification body which also strengthens the possibility that the upcoming Galaxy phones will likely get that feature which enables users to send a text message to their contact over satellite even if they don’t have access to mobile networks.
Both Pixel 9 and iPhone 16 have satellite connectivity and Samsung may finally catch up with others in this segment.

Camera
Samsung may include a similar quad-camera setup with a 200 MP primary camera, 10 MP telephoto for 3x zooming another 50 MP periscope telephoto sensor for 5x zooming, and a 12 MP unit as an ultrawide camera. This configuration was used in last year’s S24 Ultra and given that the iPhone also used a new 48 MP camera, we believe the same or slightly improved optical configuration will be likely.
We are not accepting a Camera Control button Apple introduced in its latest iPhone 16 series though. But the photography will be one of the best found in smartphones, that’s for sure.
Battery
Samsung has a knack for sticking to a 5,000mAh battery so this tradition could get a continuation here too. But while saying that, we are not complaining but the bigger number is perceived as better. Anyway, the battery efficiency has it to do with hardware/software optimizations too. Samsung uses lithium-ion batteries so they offer service and longevity.
Similarly, we are expecting 45W wired fast charging as was the case in the previous Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S23 Ultra, and Galaxy S22 Ultra iterations.

Galaxy S25 Ultra launch date and price in Nepal
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra might get its launch as part of the Galaxy S25 Series in January 2025 because that’s the month in which the South Korean tech giant usually unveils its flagship phones. Samsung might give off some hints about the S24 series at CES 2025 which starts in Las Vegas, USA on January 07 and ends on January 10, and then launch the phone around January second week.
In terms of price, the Galaxy S25 Ultra might start at Rs 185,999 for the 12/256 GB trim. We don’t expect the phone to be much pricier than the previous lineups so that should be a likely starting price range. The 12/512 GB variant might go beyond Rs 2 lakh to cost Rs 205,999. Just like the S24 Ultra, only 256 GB and 512 GB lineups may launch in Nepal.
