Samsung, one of the world’s leading consumer electronics and smartphone brand has begun its global CSR program “Samsung Innovation Campus” at the Pulchowk Campus of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering (TU IoE). The program seeks to empower youth with knowledge of future tech skills to increase their employability. Find out more details and also learn who can join the popular initiative.
Earlier, Samsung signed an MoU with IoE to initiate its Innovation Campus back in August. The South Korean tech giant has now officially started the program.
With this program, the company will train youth in Nepal on future tech skills such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and Coding & Programing. It aims to contribute to the development of a strong technology and innovation ecosystem in Nepal.
The CSR Samsung Innovation Campus at TU IoE was inaugurated by Mr. Devendra Paudel, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Science & Technology, Government of Nepal, Mr. Sung June Park, Head, Nepal Office, Samsung Southwest Asia, Mr. Park Chong-Suk, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal, Dr. Shiva Lal Bhusal, Rector, Tribhuvan University and Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi, Professor & Dean, Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering at a ceremony held inside the Pulchowk Campus of the institute.
The program will provide real job skills and in-demand tech skills. Essentially, it will improve youths’ digital literacy, learning abilities, creativity, and employability.

With our global CSR program Samsung Innovation Campus, we aim to positively impact the lives of youth in Nepal, enhancing their skills in high-tech domains such as AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding & Programming that are in demand among businesses today,” said Mr. Sung June Park, Head, Nepal Office, Samsung Southwest Asia.
The program includes courses such as – Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Coding & Programming, and the Internet of Things – which will be taught at the Pulchowk Campus of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering.

Students who have knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and programming are eligible to take courses in Samsung Innovation Campus at TU IoE.
“Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering’s efforts to converge talent, society, and business is in line with the mission of Samsung Innovation Campus, which is to empower the next generation by providing them with the tools necessary to realize their full potential and to lead positive social change for a better world. Therefore, SIC is the ideal initiative that will enable us to achieve our objective of having an influence on society and individuals via education and research,” said Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi, Professor & Dean, of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering.
Along with these, the program also offers soft skills training to enhance students’ employability and ability to bring their knowledge to life. It also nourishes problem-solving capabilities to train students into being innovative thinkers.
Students will also undergo practical project components. This will offer challenges to students to present projects of social significance. This consists of AI, Big Data, Coding & Programing, and IoT plays a big role.

Samsung Innovation Campus started in 2019. It is part of Samsung’s global CSR vision of “Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People”. It trains students and unemployed youth to get experience in key technologies of the 4th industrial revolution and nurtures them to become the next-generation workforce.
The company believes in using innovation to transform communities and create a better life for people through its global CSR projects. Likewise, it says “Empowering youth through education is one of the best ways we can prepare our young people to boldly face the world of the future.”
