The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has announced that it will establish its own data center. The board unveiled its plan while releasing its programs & policies for Fiscal Year FY 2080/81 on Sunday, July 30.
SEBON aka Dhitopatra board said that its data center will help with the record management of data and information relating to the share and exchange markets. Additionally, it will also become useful to maintain various systems the board uses and will use in the future, the board said.
The board further adds that the data center will facilitate the effective operation of the Settlement Guarantee Fund to ensure secondary market transactions of the stock exchange.
The board has adopted a policy of linking regulation and supervision with the information technology system. It has been said that they will study the use of an integrated real-time supervision system based on AI, which is being used internationally to monitor and supervise transactions in the securities market and commodity exchange market.

SEBON intends to integrate more advanced technologies for stock exchange operations. The board says that it will study AI-based real-time monitoring and regulation commonly practiced worldwide to adopt them in Nepal.
The policy mentions its study into enterprise resource planning to make its operations more technology-friendly and effective.

Besides bringing its own data center, SEBON will also incorporate various technologies and study the prospects to make its operations more efficient and effective. - The board will study Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to make its operations technology and information friendly and effective.
- To make its monitoring and other processes technology-based, it will procure, develop and use necessary software and hardware. - The board also says that it could buy Statistical Analysis Software to make its research statics-based.
- It will include the board’s currently used model into the system to make Electronic Reporting and Retrieval System-ERRS more effective.
