Nepal Telecom (NTC), the pioneering telecom operator of Nepal provides data packs for CDMA service aka Sky. CDMA has it’s own 2G and 3G service with which you can surf the internet at the average speed. Find CDMA data packs below with the process to subscribe/buy. The offers for CDMA data package ranges from small data packs, all-time packs, and Night data packs that are also available with GSM. Earlier the data packs were only available with GSM, but as CDMA customers repeatedly complained about it, they started providing all those data packs from Jestha 3, 2074.
How to configure your handset for CDMA and activate the internet?
Now, Ntc has activated the internet in all of the CDMA numbers. But you need to configure your device for the internet.
Here is how you can configure the right settings in your handset or device for CDMA data.
Go to Mobile networks in your handset or device.
Find APN and put #777 as APN, save it
Leave all the fields as it is
In the case of the dongle, if you are prompted for authentication, select PAP or CHAP.
After this, you will be able to use internet data with your CDMA device.
All-time data packs in CDMA
CDMA customers can also buy the all-time data packs, first only available with GSM. The all-time data packs are:
For all time packs in CDMA, customers need to send a message “Data and the respective volume” to 1415 like Data300MB for subscribing 300MB data pack at Rs 60. You need to make sure that you have enough balance on your phone to subscribe to the package.
You can also subscribe to the data package in CDMA using Nepal Telecom mobile app. Now you can get 100 MB as bonus data when you first register your phone with the mobile app.
Ntc is planning to shut down CDMA service whereas NTA had already decided to shutdown CDMA from the year 2022.
Night data packs in CDMA
Ntc also provides night data packs to its CDMA customers. The night data offers in CDMA are:
For night data packs, you need to send a message night and volume data to 1415 like Night400MB for subscribing 400 MB night data pack. Also for an unlimited night data pack, you need to send message NUNL to 1415 for 1 night unlimited and UNL7 for 7-night unlimited pack.
CDMA was preferred by people in those areas where GSM 2G, 3G, and other technologies were very hard to find. But these days as GSM (2G) and even 4G coverage has increased significantly, CDMA customers migrate to 2G, 3G, 4G. So the number of CDMA customers has gone down significantly.
