A 5.00-inch touchscreen phone with a resolution of 720 pixels by 1280 pixels has been launched in Nepal. The Nokia 2 is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor and it comes with 1GB of RAM. The phone packs 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. The Nokia 2 packs an 8-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies.
Nokia 2 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is powered by a huge battery of 4100mAh which is non-removable. They say the battery life of once full charged Nokia 2 is 2 days having long lasting entertainment. It has dual SIM slot which accepts both Nano-SIM. The phone supports OTG which makes easy to read and write data to and from pen drives. It has 4G connectivity support. The phone supports all the bands that are currently deployed for 4G in Nepal.
They also promise that latest Android 8 Oreo update will be available for this phone. The phone having poly-carbonate back is splash/ drip proof with IP52 ratings. Nokia 2 also supports Google Assistant, so that you can use your phone as a personal digital assistant.
The phone supports FM Radio and has most the required sensors. Sensors on the phone include Compass Magnetometer, Accelerometer, and Ambient light sensor.
It is launched in Nepal with the price tag of 10,900. It is the cheapest smartphone by Nokia. HMD Global is the authorized distributor for Nokia phone in Nepal and the phone is available in most of the outlets all over the country.
As it is a budget smartphone with 1 GB RAM, the phone is not for using applications which requires power performance. Nokia 2 is suitable for the low-end users who do not play much of the games and other heavy multi-tasking. With an affordable price, 4G support and long-lasting battery life, the phone will be popular among entry smartphone users.
