The biggest Andriod smartphone maker, Samsung is about to launch its new flagship phones Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 plus. The Samsung Galaxy S9 phones are just one month away to be official, as Samsung has confirmed that its flagship of 2018 will be launched at Mobile World Congress(MWC) in February 2018. MWC is the largest tech event that happens every year in the Barcelone of Spain. This year it is set to run from 26th February to 1st of March.

As the launch date of S9 is coming near, we have found some leaks and rumors about the phone. The image of a box was allegedly found on the internet where the S9 will be packed.

  • Find all the news about Samsung.

The things that were written in the box are believable. S9 will feature 5.8-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display, 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It’ll have IP68 water and dust resistant rating and an iris scanner for a face unlock system. The phone will be available in 64GB of storage, 4GB of RAM with wireless charging support and earphones “tuned by AKG.” AKG is an audio company that manufactures quality audio devices.

It suggests that Samsung has continued to invest in its camera technology as the camera has become on the most used functionality of a smartphone, but the phone itself remains the same size as the previous generation.

The rumor which has been around the world says that S9 will have a variable aperture camera; f/1.5 and f/2.4 which is excellent for very low light photography.

Specs of S9 and S9 plus

Display: 5.8 Inch / 6.2in QHD+ Super AMOLED curved display (570ppi / 529ppi)
OS: Android 8.0
Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 (US) / Samsung Exynos 9 (UK)
RAM: 4GB RAM / 6GB RAM
Storage: 64GB/128GB or 64GB/128GB/256GB storage
Connectivity: Cat 18 4G LTE support
Fingerprint: Rear-mounted fingerprint scanner
Camera: 12MP Dual Pixel camera with OIS (f/1.5, f/2.4) / Vertical dual rear-facing camera

Assistance: Bixby AI assistant with dedicated button
Charging: Wireless charging support
Protection: IP68 water and dust resistance

What’s New?

Moreover, there are many features that are included in S9 will be the same as that of S8. The processor will be upgraded to Snapdragon 845 and the main improvement is on camera. Well, S8 is a good phone and Samsung doesn’t seem to change the look and feel of the phone for some more years. There might slightly change in the display size and the batteries.

Two variants of S9, i.e. S9 and S9+ will be available in the market.

Announcement and Availablity

The S9  is set to unveil at Mobile World Congress(MWC) in February and Samsung will also announce the sales date in that event. It will not be available in Nepali market very soon. It is expected to be in the price range between 80 K to 90 K Nepali rupees.
