Yonder music app has been shutdown suddenly in Nepal with a Facebook announcement. Yonder, a music streaming application was brought to Nepal by the telco Ncell. It has also changed the way we listen to music here in Nepal. Yonder music Nepal app was also becoming popular among the music creators, music lovers and also gave good value for the telco. The Yonder app is closed not only in Nepal but globally including six countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Maldives.
Yonder Music Inc. and Axiata have partnered to bring the music streaming services to the telcos owned by Axiata. They had more than 20 million songs worldwide including the countries where they localize their app. People can listen the songs either online, using WiFi or cellular network and offline by downloading for later listening.
Another reason for popularity of the app among music lovers was due to Snap Karaoke. The feature enabled people to sing to their favorite tracks and upload. This feature was able to unleash the hidden talents and make them recognized. Ncell had also organized a contest to award the best of the songs from the people.
Ncell had been able to get the attention of people with this app while launching 4G service. They also bundled some data packages with the Yonder music application free streaming, enabling free streaming. 4G service won’t be that significant advantage unless there is some content providing applications like this. According to the owner of Yonder app, the music applications shuts down globally due to the investment and stability. Due to which they could not extend the license agreement with Universal Music Group.
They have already deleted localized yonder app for other countries in play store. But Yonder music Nepal app is still available to download in Android play store. People can still listen to the offline songs downloaded in the app, whereas they already apologized for the sudden closure through the app as well.
Now there is only one apps for music streaming in Nepal. Nepal Telecom and Music Nepal has partnered to bring this application called Music Nepal app.
