NTTV Nepal Telecom TV service

Nepal Telecom Begins NTTV service in Bhairahawa. The digital service completes NTC’s unique Triple Play offering that bundles telephone, internet, and TV solutions on its fiber internet plan.

Nepal Telecom‘s Provincial directorate, Bhairawa has officially launched its IPTV service in its regional from 2078 Ashadh 6. Along with Bhairahawa, the TV service is coming to many municipalities in the province.

Besides Bhairahawa, NTTV will be available in Bhairahawa, Tansen, Butwal, Tamghas, Sandhikharka, Parasi, and Taulihawa in the first phase of the launch, before expanding to more areas.

Nepal Telecom regional directorate in Bhairahwa Director Jhabindra Upadhyaya said the regional branch will soon start distributing the service in all areas within its jurisdiction.

Nepal Telecom has been providing its telephone and internet service on its FTTH plan to subscribers in Lumbini Province. Now, with the launch of NTTV, the Triple Play service has finally begun in full package for the region.

NTTV Packages

Nepal Telecom’s NTTV service includes all the national and regional channels. The telco has been offering its digital TV in two packages: Basic and Premium. In its Basic package, customers will receive 102 channels. Meanwhile, subscribers will have access to a total of 185 channels. Virtually all the popular channels viewed in Nepal are available on NTTV.

Nepal Telecom had inaugurated the service on 17 Poush 2077 (January 1, 2021). The service is already available to the FTTH subscribers in Kathmandu, Banepa, and Chitwan. Do check out all the info about NTTV Offer, packages, and price.

Nepal Telecon Enters The Digital TV Market

NTTV will face stiff competition from established ISPs who also offer their own digital TV on their fiber plans. With DishHome merging with Prabhu TV and accelerating its FTTH plan, it will further challenge NTC’s digital TV venture. But Nepal Telecom’s digital service does come with perks.

NTC’s digital TV service is a part of its unique Triple Play offering which brings three separate services over the single fiber cable. For NTC’s fiber subscribers, it will be an ultimate home solution that will provide them telephone calls, high-speed fiber internet as well as digital TV.

Being a technophile, I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of mobile networks in Nepal from legacy networks (2G, 3G) to 4G (with VoLTE, VoWiFi, eSIM) and the prospects of the upcoming 5G, and equally enthralled by the development of internet from the dial-up connection to the 2 Gbps XGS-PON fiber broadband technology and their transformative impact in the country.
