Nepal’s leading internet service provider (ISP) Vianet Communication Limited has won the ‘Broadband Telecom Company of the Year’ and ‘Technology Innovation of the Year’ awards at the Asian Telecom Awards 2024.
Vianet which is also the pioneer of fiber internet service in Nepal was recognized for its benchmark performance in bringing Nepal’s first Multi-Gig Internet broadband connectivity based on the latest XGS technology in the market. The private ISP received the award at a ceremony on February 29th in Singapore. By bringing the XGS technology, Vianet launched the 2 Gbps “Xtreme” internet package in Nepal- also the first in the country.
Besides fiber internet and multi-gig internet, Vianet is also the first to launch an IPTV service in Nepal which changed the face of the TV viewing experience for customers in Nepal.
Vianet battled out other internet service providers and telecom companies from Nepal. The company was chosen as the deserving winner by an esteemed panel of judges based on their judging and deliberations. It was the first time the company won the award in this category.
On receiving the award, Vianet Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mrs. Sewa Pathak expressed her delight and stressed the company’s efforts.
