Nepal Telecom (NTC) will now provide various telecommunication services in High Courts and District Courts including dedicated FTTH internet and intranet services. Regarding this, the state-backed company has reached an agreement with the Supreme Court on Chaitra 21, 2080.

Ntc and the SC signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the agreement papers. Ntc Managing Director Mrs. Sangita Pahadi and Supreme Court Joint-Registrar Mr. Hariraj Karki signed the agreement papers.

Being a national telecom company, Ntc prioritizes providing value-added services as well as commercial services. It will facilitate various court activities as well as help the public with connectivity while visiting the High Courts and District Courts. At a time when court proceedings are also becoming the object of digital transformation in Nepal, Ntc’s telecom services will enhance digital connectivity at the designated courts.

Being a technophile, I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of mobile networks in Nepal from legacy networks (2G, 3G) to 4G (with VoLTE, VoWiFi, eSIM) and the prospects of the upcoming 5G, and equally enthralled by the development of internet from the dial-up connection to the 2 Gbps XGS-PON fiber broadband technology and their transformative impact in the country.
