Private telecom company Ncell has become a signatory to adopt the GSMA Principles for Driving the Digital Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities. The move highlights the telco’s commitment to promoting digital connectivity and bridging the digital divide among all.
The milestone collaboration with GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications Association) represents Ncell’s commitment to democratize connectivity and digital services for all individuals, regardless of their ability to benefit from the opportunities mobile technology has to offer.
Ncell has officially become the first telecom company from Nepal to sign these GSMA principles. These principles work as a “global framework to inspire and guide mobile operators in promoting digital inclusion and closing the mobile usability gap,” Ncell presser said. GSMA is a non-profit trade organization that represents the interests of global telcos.
Ncell furthers commitment to promoting connectivity by signing GSMA principles
By penning its agreement for GSMA principles, Ncell has displayed its ongoing efforts to ensure connectivity reaches all groups. The company provides Ncell Sadhain ON data with a 50% discount for people with disabilities. Also, the company provides accessible customer care centres, fully disability-friendly office infrastructures, and works to empower para-athletes of Nepal, among many other programs for the specially-talented people.
