Ncell brought 250 new towers into operation in 2025 in a milestone effort to reinforce 4G connectivity across the country. As of now, the telco operates 2,200 sites across Nepal that provide high-quality voice and fast-data services for users.
The company launched 4G in 2017 and continues to expand the services to remote regions. In 2025, Ncell started VoWiFi, which requires VoLTE support too. Now, the private telco has extended its 4G coverage to over 95% of local levels.
Ncell’s aggressive service expansion comes as connectivity becomes a necessity rather than an exclusive luxury. Today, telecom service has become indispensable for not just calls and data but also for safety, business, and staying close to loved ones.
The company says that it installed new towers in various local levels and micro markets across seven provinces. Primarily, the expansion took place in Madesh, Lumbini, Koshi, and Bagmati provinces. The focus was on 4G enhancement and expansion.

The service launch has brought its benefits to the locals, including students, businesses, and regular people. “Now the network works very well even inside my house. It is much better than before,” said Anisa Mandal from Manharpur, Ward No. 17 of Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City in Madhesh Province. A BBA student, she is among the thousands of customers benefiting from the operation of new towers. “I need a mobile and internet a lot for my studies. I have to check college notices online, exchange notes, and learn from YouTube or ChatGPT when I don’t understand something. And since my brothers are abroad, I also need the mobile to talk to them regularly,” she added.
Ncell accelerates service expansion
Ncell says that out of 250 towers, it installed 197 in the last two and a half months, while 53 new sites were brought into operation through “resource maximization of stock and spare equipment.” The company’s service expansion continued after NTA resumed facilitation for foreign exchange recommendations. Recently, Ncell installed 20 towers in 10 days, making a sort of an envious record in the telecom landscape.

“The addition of these new towers and the capacity upgrade that we have done nationwide ensures wider 4G access for modern mobile broadband and quality voice services for our customers in the respective Provinces’ local level and micro markets, maximizing the value of connectivity,” said Upanga Dutta, Chief Consumer Business Officer of Ncell. “This network improvement and expansion is a step towards better connectivity that supports basic communications, businesses, studies, and families who rely on us to stay connected. Quality service and high-speed data are not just about speed; they are about trust, opportunities, and access to the digital world.”
