MediaTek has quietly launched its latest chipset, Dimensity 7100. The new silicon comes with an Arm-based octa-core CPU and supports 5G as well as modern hardware on phones. It’s a midrange CPU and will power price-sensitive smartphones in 2026. We have more details below.
Dimensity 7100 is listed on MediaTek’s website but has been launched without any fluff or hype. Maybe because it’s a midrange chipset and it’s sort of comparable to Dimensity 6300 in performance and specs! Anyway, this little hardware is built using a 6nm process, and importantly enough, it brings to phones the capacity to multitask and delivers smoother performance.
MediaTek Dimensity 7100 Highlights
Dimensity 7100 features an octa-core CPU consisting of four Arm Cortex-A78 cores with up to 2.4GHz, and four Arm Cortex-A55 cores with up to 2.0GHz of running speed. It comes mated to the Arm Mali-G610 GPU. As you can notice, these are the specifications of a midrange chipset for midrange phones, but with 5G connectivity support. Likewise, MediaTek says that the silicon offers a performance boost of 8% over its predecessor, the Dimensity 7050 series.

Connectivity
The chipset supports 3GPP Release 16 5G modem with a peak download speed of up to 3.3 Gbps. It also comes with MediaTek UltraSave 3.0+ technology to bolster power efficiency. And unlike others in the segment, it has support for WiFi 6, which offers significantly higher speed compared to WiFi 5. Further, it comes with support for LPDDR5 RAM with speeds up to 5500 Mbps and UFS 3.1 storage.
Camera
The midrange silicon supports up to 200 MP sensors, while the display can have up to a 120 Hz refresh rate and 10-bit color depth.
