MediaTek has announced its latest flagship chipset, Dimensity 9500s, an extension of the Dimensity 9500 tree. Along with this, the company has also unveiled Dimensity 8500, which is a midrange chipset for budget phones.
These chipsets feature “All Big Core,” meaning that they don’t carry efficiency cores and are meant for high-end performance with power efficiency. Both are built using a 3nm process.

Performance
The Dimensity 9500s features a primary Arm Cortex-X925 Ultra core with the highest clock speed of up to 3.73GHz. Besides, it has three Cortex-X4 premium cores and four Cortex-A720 performance cores. It’s paired with an Immortalis-G925 GPU for graphics, which comes with advanced ray tracing, adaptive game technology 3.0, etc., for an immersive gaming experience. For AI powers, the chipset boasts a flagship NPU.
The Dimensity 8500 also carries the All Big Core CPU system, but is developed in a 4nm process. It has eight Cortex-A725 cores at up to 3.4GHz and is paired with a Mali-G720 GPU.

Camera and Display
The Dimensity 9500s supports up to a 320 MP camera sensor backed by Imagiq image processor. It supports up to 8K video recording with Dolby Vision HDR. Likewise, it supports WQHD+ and 180 Hz refresh rate for displays, which are great capabilities for flagship phones.
The Dimensity 8500 supports a camera sensor of up to 320 MP with 4K video recording at 60fps, WQHD+ resolution, and 144Hz refresh rate.
Connectivity
Similarly, the Dimensity 9500s supports WiFi 7, 5G, GPS, Bluetooth 5.4, etc. Do keep in mind that it features an advanced LPDDR5X RAM system and UFS 4.0 storage. On the other hand, the Dimensity 8500 supports LPDDR5X 4-channel RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. It offers WiFi 6E, GPS, Bluetooth 5.4, etc. It also allows 5G and dual-SIM use.
These chipsets will be picked by smartphone OEMs such as Xiaomi, vivo, reame for their premium and midrange phones in 2026 and beyond.
