The office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has started a ‘suggestion collection portal’ to receive people’s suggestions and advice on the upcoming budget for FY 2083/84. The government says that the move helps promote people’s participation, transparency, and effective governance for the upcoming budget, policy, and program formulation.

This digital platform seeks to incorporate the real needs and fundamental expectations of the people in the policies and programs. Besides budget, you can provide your suggestion to the government on finance, public financial management, social security, land management, good governance, civil service authorization, etc.

The suggestion portal allows Nepali citizens, experts, and policymakers in Nepal and abroad to turn in their vital suggestions and opinions for the federal government regarding the budget formulation, policies, programs, and development works.

How to submit suggestions to the government’s suggestion portal?

These are the steps to submit your vital suggestion and opinion on the budget and policies to the suggestion portal of the government:

  • Go to https://suggestions.opmcm.gov.np/
  • Click on Give Your Suggestion
  • Choose Budget Planning if your suggestion is on it
  • Choose your category and click
  • Select the suggestion scope among All Nepal, province, district, local level, and ward
  • Write your suggestion and attach a file if you need to
  • Submit your name and other personal details, or choose to Submit Anonymously
  • Click on Submit Suggestion
  • The next interface gives you your tracking token, which you can use to check its progress
