Facebook is currently facing a global outage issue. The social media platform is showing a “site” issue to users on desktops.
The outage started at around 02:10 PM Nepali time. Both Facebook and Instagram are seeing this issue at the moment. These platforms are part of the Meta platforms.
As users log in to Facebook on the desktop, they are seeing the following message: “Account Temporarily Unavailable. Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes.”

Facebook is down on desktop
A strange part of this outage is that Facebook is down and out on the desktop version only. Most users, including myself, are able to use the social network normally on the app. I use an Android phone (Samsung), and I am not noticing any issue at all on Facebook.
But on the desktop, I am not able to log in. Though I see the profile picture on the top right next to home. But if you click on the options, nothing new loads. It stays on the same error screen.
The desktop version of Facebook seems to be unavailable for users, but the app version of the social media site appears to be working.
So far, Meta hasn’t shared any statement on the issue. Outages are not uncommon; therefore, we expect the situation to be resolved soon.
