Ncell employees have contributed Rs 33.50 lakh to support relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts for people affected by the Bhotekoshi River flood in Rasuwa.

The amount collected by Ncell employees has been deposited into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. The receipt for the deposit was handed over to the Communications Minister Dr. Bikram Timilsina today (September 16, 2026).

Regarding the occasion, Ncell Axiata Limited’s Chief Regulatory and Corporate Services Officer Dilli Ram Shrestha handed over the receipt to Minister Timilsina. Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) Chairman Arjun Ghimire was also present at the fund handover ceremony.

The flooding of the Bhotekoshi River caused significant loss of lives, property, and physical infrastructure in various areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Chitwan. Ncell itself incurred damages to its infrastructure worth Rs 9 crore. But the company has worked actively to restore its services in the affected region. At the same time, Ncell started satellite-based services in Bhotekoshi flood-affected areas in coordination with NTA.

The company has consistently made contributions to ensure that telecom services are available during the crisis, while funds also help with rescue and rehabilitation efforts.

Prior to this, Ncell contributed Rs 1 crore to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund as a corporate contribution.

Ncell is a leading private telecom operator with 46.48% of the market share in the market proportion of voice services. The company boasts over 1.46 crore 4G users.

In times of natural and other crises, the telco always leads with contributions to help the communities as part of its CSR initiatives.
