Qualcomm has launched two midrange chipsets- the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 and the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4. The new processors will power midrange smartphones in 2026, but they offer credible specs despite being behind in the pecking order.

Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 Highlights
The Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 is a 6nm build, 4G chipset, and runs on Kryo CPU with the clock speed reaching 2.9 GHz. Its performance, according to Qualcomm, shows performance improvement of up to 51% from its predecessor, while the GPU performance is bolstered by 20%.
Qualcomm’s specsheet shows that the chipset supports up to FHD+ 120 Hz display. It supports quick charging, with the battery charging up to 80% in just under 35 minutes.
For the optics, the phone will be capable of ISP support for multiple camera setups with extreme zoom and ultra-wide lenses.
The chipset supports up to 4 GLTE cellular connectivity, offering up to 3.9 Gbps download and 1.5 Gbps upload speed. Additionally, it is capable of allowing WiFi 5 and dual SIM standby features.

Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 Highlights
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset runs on Kryo CPU with the maximum clock speed of up to 2.3 GHz, a tad lower than the other sibling above. But it’s built using a 4 nm process and features LPDDR5 memory, which makes tasks smoother.
The chipset supports 5G with download speed reaching 2.5 Gbps and upload speed clocking at 0.9 Gbps in ideal conditions. The processor supports WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, satellite systems, NFC, etc.
In terms of the optics, the phone is compatible with up to 108 MP single camera and dual camera support.
These two won’t power the flagship phones but will redefine midrangers with improved specifications and capabilities.
