JioPhone Next Created With Google Launched; Cheapest 4G Smartphone Ever

Previously, we discussed how Jio, a subsidiary of Reliance owned by Mr. Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest man is partnering with the likes of tech giants like Qualcomm for the 5G test and Google to bring cheap 4G Phones as well as 5G Phones. Now, Jio has launched its cheapest 4G Smartphone; JioPhone Next created with Google. You can find the known features and JioPhone Next Price in India below.

Nonetheless, Mr. Mukesh Amabani announced the device himself in the Virtual Reliance 44th Annual General Meeting hosted on June 24th, 2021, at 2 PM IST. Google CEO, Sundar Pichai also presented himself virtually and delivered few words regarding the partnership of Jio-Google and the future plans they are pursuing together. Not everything about the JioPhone Next was revealed at the Reliance 44th Annual General Meeting. However, we do know everything about the device now. First of all, let’s talk about its design. The device is wholly plastic built and looks like a normal budget Android smartphone. Similarly, it boasts a single Rear Camera Sensor along with a LED Flashlight.

Moreover, there is a Jio logo at the middle and a long horizontal speaker grill at the bottom. Volume rockers as well as a dedicated Power Button are placed at the right edge. Likewise, a Single Front Camera Sensor is also there. The bezels around the device are very noticeable and its bottom chin and upper chin are quite thick. Last but not least, the display on the device is a 5.45-inch display that has a 720x1440p resolution.

As for connectivity, you get Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Dual-Nano SIM support, 4G Network Support with support for band 40 used by some LTE networks in India. Other common sensors found on smartphones are also integrated inside the device. However, the main highlights about the device revealed at the event are, Special Optimized Android OS, Translate Now and Read Aloud, HDR Mode, Night Mode, Snapchat Lenses, as well as Google Assistant in the Hindi Language.

Translate Now and Read Aloud features become a bridge to language barriers. It translates and reads aloud any content on the screen. This feature is further taken next level with Google Assistant in the Hindi Language. Likewise, Snapchat Lenses are directly integrated into your camera. Therefore, you can unleash your creativity and add your unique twist to photos and videos.

The camera feature doesn’t stop here. It boasts a single 13MP camera at the back and a Single 8MP Sensor at the front. The JioPhone Next features HDR Mode that helps to capture high-quality and detailed images with HDR mode. Similarly, Night Mode captures beautiful, high-quality pictures at night. Now comes one of the most important devices ‘Special Optimized Android OS‘.

Google has especially optimized this special version of OS for this device. This Special Android OS will be powerful even if the hardware isn’t and will receive most major security updates on a regular basis. Similarly, it has 8GB RAM, 16GB Built-in Storage as well a Qualcomm 215 chipset. For power, it packs a 3500mAh Battery.

JioPhone Next Price in India & Availability

JioPhone Next Price in India to purchase it upfront is INR. 6,499. It will be available in JioMart and every retail store starting from Diwali of 2021. Also, customers can pay just INR. 1,999 up front and the rest can be paid via the company’s EMI scheme. The company has introduced four EMI Plans for its customers to buy the JioPhone Next.

The first one is Always-on Plan. In this plan, customers will hay to pay INR. 350 or INR. 300 for a duration of 18 to 24 months. Users will be able to enjoy 5GB of Data + 1 hour 40 mins of talk time per month. In JioPhone Next Large Plan, customers have to pay Rs. 500 for 18 months or else just Rs. 450 for 24 months and will also enjoy 1.5GB of data per day as well as unlimited voice calls.

Another plan is JioPhone XL Plan. In this plan, customers can pay Rs. 550 or Rs. 500 for 24 months and customers will get 2GB of high-speed 4G data daily as well as unlimited voice calls. Last but not least is the JioPhone Next XXL Plan. In this plan, customers can pay INR. 600 per month for 18 months or else just INR. 24 months and get 2.5GB of 4GB data per day as well as unlimited voice calls.

The device will come in two color options; Black and Blue. How we know, Jio has teased images with the Black and Blue color variant. But the best part is, Mr. Mukesh Ambani has declared the JioPhone Next won’t be just launching in India but will launch globally. So, slowly this phone will be introduced in many countries.

Future Plans of Google & Jio

Google and Jio plan to provide internet connectivity and affordability to everyone. Currently, the internet and smartphone are still a fantasy for people living in rural villages in India. Google and Jio’s motive is to break this barrier. Both companies hope this with bring a positive and immediate impact on everyone’s daily life.

Google CEO, Sundar Pichai said “We were very proud to announce our partnership with Jio last year. I’m happy to announce the next steps of our plan today starting with the new affordable Jio Phone Next created with Google. It’s built for India and will open up new possibilities for millions of new users who will experience the internet for the very first time. We are also proud to announce our new 5G partnership between Google Cloud and Jio. It will help more than a billion Indians to connect to a better and fast internet. Furthermore, it will support businesses for their digital transformation. It will also help Jio to build new services in the sector like Health, Education and more laying a foundation for next phase of India’s Digitalization.”

Therefore, Jio will be taking full advantage of Google Cloud and migrate many of its core businesses to it. As the 5G trial has begun in India, this will also help Jio’s 5G Service to deliver high-speed internet. Moreover, Reliance is set to migrate its core retail business like Reliance retail, JioMart, JioHealth, JioSaavn, and others to Google Cloud infrastructure. This will enable Jio to leverage Google Cloud’s vast scalability capability. Recently Axiata also partnered with Google Cloud for Digitalization in Asia.

Google and Jio are doing everything to break the barrier of internet and smartphone between urban and rural areas. This effort from both companies is appreciated by everyone.
