Motorola has finally launched the Moto X40 smartphone. The flagship phone carries impressive specs like the latest and greatest, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 165Hz fast refresh rate, 50MP OIS camera, and more. Beginning with the design, the Moto X40 resembles the typical Motorola design with rounded corners. The build quality is sturdy with Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the front and back alongside the aviation-grade aluminum frame. There is a hole punch display on the front with minimal chins. On the back side, there is a rectangular camera module housing three cameras. You get an optical fingerprint scanner as biometric security on this phone. The phone has IP68 dust and water resistance. Motorola Moto X40 is available in two colors: Black, and White.
Moving to the display, it sports 6.67 inches AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels). The main USP is its 165Hz fast refresh rate, ensuring super smooth scrolling and feel. The display is also HDR 10+ certified and supports 1B colors.

Under the hood, the smartphone packs in the power of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the latest flagship chip from Qualcomm. This new 4nm silicon is providing an improvement on both CPU & GPU sides over its predecessor. For the configuration, it is an Octa-Core professor with 1×3.2 GHz Cortex-X3 & 2×2.8 GHz Cortex-A715 & 2×2.8 GHz Cortex-A710 & 3×2.0 GHz Cortex-A510 cores. It has an Adreno 740 GPU with hardware level Ray tracing support for games. There is a 3D cooling system to keep the thermals in check. For the memory configuration, the phone comes up with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS internal storage. The smartphone boots on Android 13-based MYUI 5.0 software which is close to stock Android.
In the optical department, this flagship phone comes with a flagship triple camera setup. The primary camera is a 50MP optically stabilized lens with an f/1.9 aperture and Dual Pixel PDAF. While the ultrawide camera is a 50MP shooter with an f/2.2 aperture and 117˚ FOV for capturing wider scenes. And the third one is a 12MP telephoto lens with an f/1.6 aperture. It has a 2X optical zoom for portrait shots. For the videos, the main camera can shoot up to 4K resolution videos at 60fps. There is a horizontal lock feature while clicking action scenes. Talking about selfies and video calls, the phone has a 60MP front camera with an f/2.2 aperture. It can also record 4K videos at 30fps.
The phone has a 4600mAh battery. This Li-Po battery has the support for 125W fast charging and 15W wireless charging. For connectivity, the smartphone has dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6e, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
The expected Motorola Moto X40 price in Nepal can be accumulated to start from Rs.85,000 for the base 8/128GB variant. In China, the official pricing begins at CNY 3,399. The device launch is unsure as of now but hopefully, it arrives in the Nepalese market as well.
