Leica Branded Lens on Xiaomi 12 Ultra
As per the partnership between Xiaomi and Leica, the company is featuring the Leica lens on the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. This is not the first time we are seeing Leica branded lens on a mobile phone. It was also featured on Huawei phones. With a redo in the smartphone market, Xiaomi and Leica are jointly working on a flagship-level lens with more optimizations and improvements. As per old rumours, the camera resolution and setup were likely to be the same as of its predecessor, the Mi 11 Ultra but it will be different this time. Also, this strategic partnership will aid in better quality and features.
Second Gen Liquid Lens
Xiaomi is also bringing its second-gen Liquid Lens on the Xiaomi 12 Ultra as per rumors. A liquid lens enables the camera to overcome Depth of Field limitations through electronic adjustments focus without any mechanical movements. In short, the technology helps to make a single lens function in multiple ways. For example, smartphone makers have started to infuse macro capability on the ultrawide lens. Xiaomi is likely to introduce the second-gen Liquid lens on its upcoming flagship.
Further, Xioami shall also feature a 3D ToF camera. 3D ToF stands for 3D Time of Flight which is a scanner-less light and detection ranging (LIDAR) used for capturing depth information from a scene within nanoseconds. It is all possible due to the usage of high-power optical pulses. This assists in capturing super fast depth information for subjects at closer distances mostly.
The upcoming flagship rumors are already hitting the market. It is most likely that the phone will have Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 in the core. This latest silicon from Qualcomm is based on 4nm TSMC nodes and offers few improvements over its predecessor. It may feature a 2K AMOLED display with 120Hz fast refresh rate. Further, the phone is rumored to feature a 4900mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The brand also might make this phone to be the first one to come with a 200MP main camera.
