MIUI 12.5 Enhanced

Xiaomi recently announced MIUI 12.5 Enhanced in China with some fixes and improvements. The smartphone leader initially didn’t reveal much about its global version but now it has confirmed the list of phones that will receive the next MIUI update.

Xiaomi was supposed to push MIUI 13 updated but has instead focused on improving the current OS with some fixes. This is why the company has decided to roll out MIUI 12.5 Enhanced before it launches the next major update. The company in its blog wrote that the update would come with “system optimizations that will bring you a swifter and a lower power consumption experience”.

Xiaomi’s MIUI 12.5 is compatible with most devices but has drawn criticism for being too buggy. Despite the focus on optimization, users have complained of performance issues. Even the owners of the Redmi Note 8 Pro and POCO X3 have complained about bugs and optimizations. Now, the Enhanced Edition will come to elevate the user experience by fixing those issues.

The changelog for the next edition has mentioned the update will execute better algorithms to dynamically allocate system resources, better RAM optimization, background apps management, and system improvements, etc.

MIUI 12.5 Enhanced

Xiaomi 12.5 Enhanced for China fixed 160 system issues and over 220 system app issues. Understandably, these fixes will also come to the global version.

Xiaomi has confirmed that MIUI 12.5 Enhanced would land on Mi 11, Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11X Pro, Mi 11i, Mi 11X, Mi 10T & Mi 10T Pro, Mi 10 Pro, and Mi 10.

MIUI 12.5 Availability

The company confirmed that the global version of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced arrives on smartphones from Q4 2021. This is not a huge list but we can expect it to be the list of the first batch of devices for the update. The company may include more smartphones in the coming weeks. We will keep you updated on this when we learn more.

Being a technophile, I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of mobile networks in Nepal from legacy networks (2G, 3G) to 4G (with VoLTE, VoWiFi, eSIM) and the prospects of the upcoming 5G, and equally enthralled by the development of internet from the dial-up connection to the 2 Gbps XGS-PON fiber broadband technology and their transformative impact in the country.
