OPPO Patents A Phone With Dual Sides and Wraparound Screen

OPPO has patented a futuristic phone with Dual Sides and Wraparound Screen. The company has filed the patent with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) and reports are that the device would be one technology step up for smartphones.

Although little is known of the device, Concept Creator has released its render and it seems the device is a beautifully imagined phone with novel aesthetics.

The innovative company has recently shocked everyone with the X 21 delivery, a device with a sliding display.  Now, the company has taken a longer stride with a new patented device. It is the one that has dual sides and a wraparound screen, a next-gen futuristic smartphone.

OPPO’s Futuristic Phone | Rear Cameras Serving Selfie Shooter!

OPPO’s secretive futuristic phone follows a unique design language. It has a thin bezel and sharp corners as per the render. The most stunning feature of this uniquely though phone is that its display has no curves at all. Instead, the render shows sharp corners on the display’s wrapped-around part. It is unprecedented yet on smartphones. The design uses an ultra-thin steel plate between the display and the frame allowing OPPO to put thin screens.

The back of this phone is equally innovative. The device has a formulaic four-camera setup with a LED flash. However, the display reaches the back of the phone and the camera can double as selfie-shooters. This is the reason OPPO has not placed a front camera for its latest concoction. The display leaves no room for anything on the front.

The display wrap-around is on the left. This is why we find the volume rocker and the power button on the right side of this device.

OPPO’s latest patent is yet another statement of its far-reaching potentials in the smartphone industry. The patent underscores the Chinese smartphone vendor’s expertise in technology and innovation.

OPPO’s Quest To Stay Innovative

In fierce competition with international smartphone brands, and the more stiff contest coming from domestic brands, OPPO can still stand out with its original design language and innovation. That is proof that it has enough brains to stay relevant and offer something unique.

Despite all the allure and intrigue, the device is still a patent for now. There is no guarantee that this device ever hits production, and it is not happening soon either. But OPPO’s patented futuristic phone proves yet again that it can offer a unique perspective on smartphones and technology and innovation.
