DTH company Dish Home has reached 1 lakh users on its internet service. Providing fiber broadband under its subsidiary Dish Home Fibernet, the ISP reached the milestone in just 2 years since its launch.

The company garnered the 1 lakh mark as of March 2022 and cherished the milestone with a celebration in its office. On the occasion, Hemraj Dhakal, the Chief of Dish Media Network said, the company has become capable of delivering its services country-wide. He also expected the thriving company to grow its qualitative customer base further in the coming days.

Dish Home celebrates reaching 1 lakh customers

In recent months, Dish Home Fibernet has accelerated its ruthless expansion across the country. Likewise, the company has also become the first to launch a WiFi 6 router with its premium 600 Mbps ‘Mega-Fi Plan’.

Already, Dish Home Fibernet has reached all major cities across Nepal. But the company will also continue expanding into more areas competing with private ISPs.

Having its own DTH has been a boon for Dish Home. Most of the ISPs bundle digital TV in collaboration but Dish Home Fibernet has its own TV service. Moreover, it has also acquired Prabhu TV gaining a synergistic effect for its range of services.

Dish Home Expanding at Full Speed

Currently, Dish Home Fibernet is providing 300 Mbps and 600 Mbps flagship broadband internet service. With this package, Dish Home has also heralded WiFi 6 standard in Nepal. Meanwhile, there is a diverse lineup of packages to suit users of different needs, a characteristic of the young ISP.

Being a relatively fresh company among the private ISPs, Dish Home faces a steep challenge against the leading giants. WorldLink, Subisu, Vianet, Classic Tech have remained the major ISPs in Nepal. Moreover, Ntc has also reinvigorated its fiber broadband with new strategies such as Triple Play. But focusing on services and affordable packages has enabled Dish Home to mount credible competitiveness.

Being a technophile, I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of mobile networks in Nepal from legacy networks (2G, 3G) to 4G (with VoLTE, VoWiFi, eSIM) and the prospects of the upcoming 5G, and equally enthralled by the development of internet from the dial-up connection to the 2 Gbps XGS-PON fiber broadband technology and their transformative impact in the country.
