Private operator Ncell Axiata has been recognized for helping solve crime investigations. The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office (KVCIO) of Nepal Police honored the telco on August 22, Tuesday for its contributions to investigating criminal activities. The office felicitated Samrat Amatya and Krishna Bhusal of Ncell, acknowledging their role in providing essential support on behalf of Ncell.

On the occasion, SSP Dr. Manoj Kumar KC, Chief of KVCIO, presented a letter of appreciation to Amatya and Bhusal.

In addition to being a leading telecom operator in Nepal, Ncell is also a socially responsible corporate entity. The company has remained an essential support to the government authorities including security agencies.

Ncell says that its efforts are a component of civic responsibility. It adds that it will continue to work in “fostering the development of a safer community and society.” Do read: Ncell Data Packs | Price, Volume, Validity

Ncell received recognition for helping in crime investigations in previous years too

Ncell said that the recognition serves as a testament to the company’s commitment to enhancing the community and people. It is not the first occasion that the company has received such an award.

In 2021 and 2022, Ncell received the honor for its support to Nepal Police for crime investigations. On both occasions, the telco was felicitated on the Nepal Police Day.

Ncell Axiata Limited is the first private telecom service provider in Nepal since 2004. The company has set the goal of connecting every Nepalese through its high-quality cellular networks. In the meantime, it is also a key taxpayer with over NPR 283 billion (as of the FY 2021/22) of contribution to the government since its inception. The company boasts the widest 4G network in the country, which brings high-speed broadband as well as HD voice with VoLTE.

Being a technophile, I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of mobile networks in Nepal from legacy networks (2G, 3G) to 4G (with VoLTE, VoWiFi, eSIM) and the prospects of the upcoming 5G, and equally enthralled by the development of internet from the dial-up connection to the 2 Gbps XGS-PON fiber broadband technology and their transformative impact in the country.
