Huawei Hosts Lighting up the Future Exhibition at Digital Nepal Conclave 2022

Huawei hosted its “Lighting up the Future” exhibition at the Huawei Digital Nepal Conclave 2022. The goal of this exhibition was to demonstrate the value of sharing ICT solutions to help businesses make businesses smarter and more inclusive. Huawei and the ICT Foundation Nepal jointly organized the show that concluded this week.

The two-day conclave drew in more than 600 guests from the government, telecommunications, and ICT sectors as a whole. This included Baikuntha Aryal, the Joint Secretary of MoCIT, and Kulman Ghising, the MD of Nepal Electricity Authority Kulman Ghising. Besides, many prominent figures from the government were also present at the event.

At the event, Huawei demonstrated how ICT would bring transformation in the next 10 years. The tech giant displayed how “Gigaverse” MBB networks, networks for cloud, Green ICT, 5G, and its use cases will look around 2030. Huawei had staged the “Intelligent World 2030” vision in its Lighting up the Future exhibition at the Digital Nepal Conclave.

Intelligent-to-win architecture for digital transformation

At the same Digital Nepal Conclave 2022 event, Patrick Lowe, Huawei’s Global Public Services Industry expert, shared his perspective on the premises of digital growth. He also touched upon the idea of the need for digital transformation and user-centeredness to achieve sustainable growth. Then, he demonstrated how Huawei’s intelligent to-win architecture enables digital transformation.

Mr. Lowe emphasized Cloud+AI. The Cloud+AI connects the right infrastructure for digital services. It consists of an integrated intelligent system to support the cloud, network, and other equipment.

Economy to turn 50% by 2025

In addition, William Zhang, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Nepal also shared his views at the Digital Nepal Conclave. Mr. Zhang gave a speech highlighting the role of ICT in economic development. He said, “The digital economy will fuel post-epidemic recovery. In 2020, world GDP fell by 2.8% but ICT investment grew by 5%. But by 2025, he expressed that 50% of the world’s economy could become a digital economy.”

Talking about the trend of localization of data storage, he said, “Nepal needs to have a reliable and secure sovereign data center now.” “It is necessary not only to collect and protect the data of Nepali citizens,” he added, “but it is also to provide government services and serve as the cornerstone of Digital Nepal.”
