Ncell and Kathmandu Metropolitan City have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Skill Fair (Seep Mela) 2025. It is the largest skill development program of KMC, and the leading private telco is joining the local level for the promotion of talents to enable them for employment.
Ncell and KMC signed and exchanged the MoU at a program organized by KMC on Wednesday, June 04, 2025. This is a strategic cooperation between the two. According to the telco, their partnership aims at training individuals to grow their potential to become an employees and foster sustainable livelihoods.
The MoU was signed by the representative of both entities. Shailendra Jha, Coordinator of the Skill Fair Management Committee of the KMC, and Bishakha Lakshmi Khadka, Director, Ncell Foundation and Special Projects, and Dilli Shrestha, Director, Legal and Regulatory Services, signed the MoU to formalize their cooperation.
In this initiative, individuals with practical and market-driven skills across various sectors will get training that seeks to develop their skills, work ethics, and nurture their employability. Ncell is collaborating in the Skill Fair 2025 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles. Ncell says that its involvement in the Skill Fair is part of its “commitment to empower youth through practical skills and training.”

Skill Fair 2025 is training around 2,500 individuals
The Skill Fair 2025 is currently providing skill-based training to 2,424 individuals in 10 different sectors across 37 different professions. Most of these are technical fields such as cybersecurity, multimedia, programming languages (Dot Net, Java, PHP), digital marketing, AI and its applications, drone and robotics technology, and fiber optics. Also, individuals are given training on beauty and grooming, electronics repair, and specialized skills to support individuals with special talents.

Ncell, KMC are responsible for youth training in several sectors
This year, a Special Ability Support Skill has been added that includes training in housekeeping and care services. Housekeeping is designed for facilitators working with children with hearing disabilities. Likewise, the care service training is aimed at facilitators of children with Down Syndrome and Autism. For Electronics, training includes laptop repair technician, AC and refrigerator repair, CCTV, and mobile phone repair.
In the Garment sector, Ncell and KMC are overseeing training for fabrication and basic fashion designing. In Construction, training relating to electrician, plumbing, masonry, welding, and carpentry is being provided to individuals. The training for Hospitality includes skills for barista, water, fast food, and bakery.
The training for the Automobile sector includes three professions. They are electric vehicle (EV) maintenance, light vehicle engine repair, and maintenance of both electric and fuel-powered motorbikes and scooters. Similarly, training in Art and Sculpture includes Thanka Painting and Ceramics (terracotta) training. Individuals are also being trained in Astrology and Priesthood.
The training also includes the Agriculture sector, where individuals are getting skill training on flower decoration. According to Ncell, training relating to the stock market is also underway.
With specialized training, trainee can develop and hone their skills in their respective fields. This can be one stepping stone in their professional journey.
Ncell says that the collaboration between Ncell Foundation and KMC on Skill Fair 2025 reflects its commitment to creating inclusive opportunities for youth and supporting programs that promote skills for youths’ employability and sustainable development.
