Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Overview
Performance
Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 comes with 7% improvement in CPU performance, while the GPU gets a 7% boost too. It runs on a similar 1+3+4 Kryo CPU architecture. The change, or let’s say the improvement there is that it now comes with the Prime Core Cortex-A720, which clocks at 2.7 GHz, boosted from 2.5 GHz.

For gamers, the chipset has Snapdragon Game Super Resolution and Adaptive Performance Engine 3.0, which promises sharper visuals and smoother gameplay to offer an immersive gaming experience.

Camera
The silicon supports up to a 200 MP sensor and 4K HDR video recording at 30fps. As should be obvious, there’s no support for 8K recording. It will have a triple 12-bit ISP, which helps with three cameras capturing shots at once. The AI will come into play to make photography even better.
Display
The chipset supports smartphone displays with up to a 2,900 x 1,300 resolution at 144Hz. Although even flagship phones come with a 120Hz refresh rate, the trend could change as even a budget phone, Redmi 15 5G, comes with 144Hz, so we may be looking at a new trend among upcoming phones.
AI improvements
The chipset flaunts an updated Hexagon NPU for higher AI efficiency. It supports large language models LLMs such as Llama 1B and Qwen 1B. Therefore, users with this chipset get on-device AI features such as real-time photo editing, translation, etc., at a faster speed.
Connectivity support
The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset supports WiFi 6e and 5G connectivity, which promises remarkable data rates with low latency. Thanks to the Snapdragon 5G modem-FY system, the chipset offers up to 2.9 Gbps download speeds. It also allows Dual-SIM Dual-Active and eSIM support. Besides, it enables Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless connection.
