Oppo is one of the biggest tech giants in the world. The brand is very popular in Nepal and is coming with new gadgets. The brand recently launched mid-range smartphones like Oppo A31 and Oppo A52. Oppo has again come up with a new device in Nepal but this time an entry-level smartphone dubbed as Oppo A12. The brand confirmed the launch of the smartphone in Nepal via a Facebook post. With the recent increase of the entry-level smartphone in Nepal, to compete with other devices the brand has dropped the price of the base variant of Oppo A12 in Nepal and the higher-end variant is still priced same.
Oppo A12 is another budget smartphone from the brand’s A-series. It is the successor to the Oppo A11. The smartphone arrives with some attractive specs for an entry-level segment such as HD+ Water Drop Screen, dual-rear cameras, massive 4230mAh battery, etc. Now, let us know more in detail about the specs, price, and availability of Oppo A12 in Nepal below.
The design of the smartphone is pretty common to the other budget phones. Its body is made up of polycarbonate and comes with a 3D Diamond Blaze design that makes it attractive. It is just 8.3mm thin & weighs only 165gm so it is better for one-handed use. The device has a waterdrop notch that houses the front camera of the phone.
Oppo A12 features a 6.5-inch (15.79cm) LCD HD display with 1520 × 720 pixels resolutions. It arrives with an aspect ratio of 19:9, screen-body-ratio of 89 percent, and has screen brightness of up to 450 nits. The device also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI face Unlock. Oppo A12 comes with an eye protection screen blue light shield and Gorilla Glass 3 on top for screen protection.
Talking about the photography of the device, Oppo A12 comes with an AI Dual rear camera 13MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 2MP secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture. It also has a LED Flash on it. At the front, Oppo A12 features a 5MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture to snap beautiful images.
The Oppo A12 comes powered by an octa-core Mediatek Helio P35 Chipset that powers most of the phones nowadays. It is coupled with the 3GB/4GB of RAM along with storage options of 32GB/64GB. The internal storage can be expanded up to 256GB using a MicroSD card slot.
On the software front, Oppo A12 runs on ColorOS 6.1.2 based on Android 9 Pie.
Oppo A12 comes backed up by a massive 4,230mAh battery. But it lacks a fast charging technology. Oppo claims that you can watch HD videos online for up to 17 hours, or play games for up to 8 hours without any worries.
Talking about the connectivity of the device, it features dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, MicroUSB, USB OTG, and 3.5mm audio jack.
Oppo A12 was available for purchase in Nepal at the price of Rs. 18,590 for the base variant and Rs. 20,790 for 4GB RAM variants. But now we get the base variant of Oppo A12 only at Rs. 17,590. The budget smartphone is available in two different color variants Blue, and Black. It arrives with better performance and features on it. It will be competing with the likes of Honor 8A, Redmi 8A Dual, Realme C11, Redmi 9, etc.
