Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Series Launched in Nepal | Price & Specs

Samsung had launched the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series in the Galaxy Unpacked Event on August 10, 2022. It was launched alongside other products like Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. The smartwatches arrive with new and exciting specs and features. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series is finally launched in Nepal. The Smartwatch series is the successor to the Galaxy Watch 4 Series that was launched last year.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 & Galaxy Watch 5 Pro Overview

Design  

Starting off with the design of the Galaxy Watch 5 series smartwatches, they have beautiful designs. Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro both have a round dial. The Galaxy Watch 5 features an Aluminum metal casing whereas Galaxy Watch 5 Pro comes with a premium titanium casing and a D-Buckle Sport Band.

Both the models also feature a 5ATM rating, and  IP68 water and dust resistance. They also have MIL-STD-810H (the latest version of US Military Standard) rating. Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 is available in various color finishes Silver, Graphite, Sapphire as well as Pink Gold.  Similarly, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro comes in two different color options Black Titanium and Gray Titanium.

Display

As for the display, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 along with Galaxy Watch 5 Pro are the first smartwatches to feature a Sapphire crystal display. The brand claims that it is 60 percent tougher than the Gorilla Glass DX+ used by its predecessor Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 series. Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 is available in two models: 40 mm and 44 mm variants, while the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro comes in a single 45 mm variant. 

On the Galaxy Watch 5 40  mm model, we get a 1.2 inches (30.4 mm) Super AMOLED Sapphire Crystal display with Always On Display along with a screen resolution of 396 x 396 pixels. On the other hand, the 44 mm model packs a 1.4 inches (34.6mm) Super AMOLED Sapphire Crystal display with an Always On Display with a screen resolution of 450 x 450 pixels. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro comes with a 1.4 inches (34.6mm) Super AMOLED Sapphire Crystal display with Always On Display with a screen resolution of 450 x 450 pixels. You can change from analog to digital, vintage to modern, and colorful to chic. You can pick from a wide array of new and enhanced watch faces to match your style. The smartwatch arrives with a variety of wristbands for you to change as your moods which are easily swappable.

Performance And Software

Now diving into the internals of the smartwatches. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series is powered by Samsung’s Exynos W920 processor that also runs the last year’s Galaxy Watch 4 series. It is a dual-core chipset based on a 5 nm process that clocks up to 1.18GHz. For handling the graphics, it has a Mali-G68 MP2 GPU. As for memory configuration, It is coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage onboard.

As for the software of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series, both the smartwatches run on Google’s Wear OS 3.5 skin with One UI 4.5 on top. The new Wear OS will also feature Deezer and Soundcloud which allows you to listen to music without your phone nearby. It also comes with the Google Assistant support. There will soon be Google Maps integration tools in watches without the need for your phone.  

Health & Fitness Features

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series arrives with various updates and new health and fitness features. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series features a Samsung BioActive Sensor that measures ECG (electrocardiogram), Optical Heart Rate, Electrical Heart Signal, and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis and measures the heart rate, blood-oxygen levels, and stress levels. There’s also the option to measure ECG and blood pressure. You can also check abnormal heart rate and rhythm through ECG and send data straight to your phone. It also does sleep tracking, the sleep tracker detects and holistically analyzes sleep stages while resting. 

There is also Samsung Galaxy Watch’s fall detection that notifies emergency contact if the user trips or falls. The Galaxy Watch 5 series also offers support for tracking over 90 workout modes and has built-in GPS for tracking outdoor activities.

Battery and Others

Now, let us talk about the battery prowess of the smartwatches. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 comes with a 13 percent larger battery than its predecessor Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. The Galaxy Watch 5 has two models, 44 mm and 40 mm. So, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 44 mm model is equipped with a 410 mAh battery, whereas the Galaxy Watch 5 40 mm model has a 248 mAh battery. 

Likewise, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 pro boasts a bigger 590 mAh battery that is 60 percent larger than the Galaxy Watch 4. It is the largest battery available in any Galaxy Watch. Both the wearables support fast wireless charging and arrive with a wireless charging adapter. The smartwatches can go from 0 to 45 percent just within 30 minutes of time. The brand claims that with just 8 minutes of charging, they can offer up to 8 hours of sleep tracking.

Talking about the connectivity options, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series includes dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4+5GHzi, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC support, and Google Pay, built-in GPS, Glonass, Beidou, Galileo, etc.
