Worldlink 1 Gbps Internet

WorldLink has launched 1 Gbps internet package. The ISP announced its fastest ever internet plan at its ongoing Carnival 2.0. For the high-speed capacity, the package will come with Nokia Beacon 3.0 Mesh system.

The 1 Gbps package carries enough punch for all internet needs one can think of. From online gaming to creativity, multiple large file downloads, or streaming 4K content, it should deliver them all with a breeze. WorldLink has promoted his offer as ‘Photon Nimsdai Special Edition’ after Nirmal Purja, the iconic mountaineer who is the brand ambassador for the ISP.

Further, the company has also increased its minimum speed plan for new subscriptions. Instead of 150 Mbps, the ISP will now offer 200 Mbps as its most basic plan. WorldLink raised the basic package speed as a new year offer for the approaching 2079 B.S.

Nokia Beacon 3.0 for Worldlink 1 Gbps internet wifi

WorldLink has set the package for Rs.39,999 for an annual subscription. The customers will get Beacon 3.0 for a router with an option for multiple nodes in a Mesh system for blanket coverage.

Worldlink 1 Gbps internet package cost

WorldLinik’s premium 1 Gbps package costs Rs.39,000 which translates to 3,333 per month. As for the router, a subscriber needs to pay Rs.500 in deposit. However, a dual-band router and drop wire come for free. Also remember, the package is available exclusively on annual subscription only.

Subscribers meanwhile can add Mesh routers to maximize coverage performance. For this, they need to pay additional costs which increase as per the number of ‘nodes’. For additional nodes aka Beacon Mesh, it costs Rs.3,000 for installation, Rs.8,000 on a rental charge, and Rs.2,000 for a deposit.

Triple Play with Nokia Beacon 3.0

WorldLink’s 1 Gbps internet package comes with Nokia Beacon 3.0 to send WiFi signals to all corners across the house. This advanced router system doesn’t allow WiFi dead zones and promotes a consistent and reliable connection round the clock.

WorldLink says customers can enjoy Triple Play functions through Nokia Beacon 3.0 setup. That means with this router, you can enjoy voice, video, and data. In addition, it comes with ‘unique spectrum monitoring and interference detection’ features helping to deliver a high-end broadband performance. Worldlink calls the Beacon 3.0 a “better replacement for your normal Wi-Fi extender, its single Wi-Fi SSID gives it an edge over a typical Wi-Fi extender.”

What is it with 2रुन्तै?

It is a value-added service announced by Worldlink to reflect its commitment to customers’ after-sales services. The company says, with the new concept ‘2रुन्तै’, the company will solve any internet problems of a customer within 2 hours. But if Worldlink fails to do so, it will offer the customer 2 days of internet for free.

Our impression: Speed war is resting

WorldLink’s 1 Gbps internet package has arrived towards the end of the Nepali calendar year. Just when most felt the ongoing speed war is resting at the top end, WorldLink launched its fastest yet broadband package overriding its previous Photon 600 Mbps plan. Meantime, the private ISP has become only the second ISP to join the 1 Gbps club. Prior to this, another private ISP Classic Tech has started the phenomenal 1 Gbps FTTH plan.

While Dish Home and Subisu have upgraded their packages to 600 Mbps plans, WorldLink and Classic Tech have embarked on 1 Gbps offers. But we won’t be shocked if either of the ISPs also announces a 1 Gbps package in the coming days. what we are sure about is that the shock and awe from the speed war seem to continue well beyond this year as the competition pits ISPs against each other for relevancy and momentum.

WorldLink is Nepal’s largest ISP in terms of the number of subscribers. It is offering its broadband fiber internet to over 5.5 lakh in Nepal and is the third-largest telecom company in Nepal after Ntc, and Ncell.
