Regarding Network Coverage Restored in All Flood-Affected Areas
Nepal Telecom (NTC) has fully restored network connectivity across all affected locations by operationalizing mobile BTS sites in flood-impacted districts. The company’s sites in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading suffered minor to major effects due to Bhotekoshi floods on Bhadra 10 (August 26). But the company has restored the sites after continuous deployments of technicians in the flood-affected regions and through the Disaster Response Operations Room.
The company transported technicians, equipment, generators, spare parts, and fuel by helicopter where roads and power supply were disrupted. The company coordinated with security agencies to restore services.
Following the resotration of the company’s Rasuwa Border mobile site near the Nepal-China border on 2083/05/14 (August 30), communication service access reached all locations conducting relief and rescue operations in the flood-affected region.
The company says that 83 of 120 sites in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts were damaged. Three sites—Timure, Chilime Khola, and Trishuli 3 ‘B’—were completely damaged.

Nepal Telecom restores all sites affected by the Bhotekoshi floods
After Nepal Telecom resumed operations at Kalleri in Dhading, and Bhadratar-Thaprek, Pusantar, Taruka, Kispang (Bhalche), and Budhasingh sites in Nuwakot on 2083/05/16 (September 1), it achieved full restoration of services in the three districts. The company says that it will prioritize the reconstruction of damaged sites to further enhance mobile services in the areas.
Immediately after the news of the Rasuwa flood broke on Bhadra 10, the company’s technicians started working continuously to restore the sites. On Bhadra 11 (August 27), generators, fuel, batteries, and other equipment were dispatched via helicopter to the Nyeupanechaur and Ramche repeater sites in Rasuwa district to resume services. Generators, fuel, and technical personnel were deployed to Dhunche, the district headquarters of Rasuwa, to keep services functional.
Similarly, on Bhadra 12 (August 28), generators, petrol, and technicians were deployed via helicopter to the Goljung tower (Bahundanda) in Rasuwa, Gerkhu and Tupche in Nuwakot, and the tower on the hill above Timure to restore services. Personnel along with generators and fuel were also mobilized to Madanpur, Battar, and the Bidur Bus Park in Nuwakot district, as well as Baireni Thamel Danda in Dhading district to resume operations.
Trishuli 3 A site restoration of Nepal Telecom after Rasuwa floods
On Bhadra 13 (August 29), the tower adjacent to Trishuli 3 ‘A’ in Rasuwa, the tower at Kalikasthan in Uttargaya Rural Municipality (Rasuwa), and the tower at Bungtang in Nuwakot district resumed. Additionally, towers at Katunje, Samari Bhanjyang, and Betini also came back online. Consequently, 93 out of the 120 affected sites were restored to operation.
On Bhadra 14 (August 30), services were restored at 7 additional locations, including the Rasuwa Border site located at the Nepal-China border in Rasuwa district, Upper Sanjen, Chhapthoke, Jibjibe Micro, and Gatlang sites. Furthermore, Charghare and Charghare Mulabari sites in Nuwakot were restored. Through the Rasuwa Border BTS site, services were re-established from the Nepal-China border point, Timure, the Rasuwa border corridor, and Syabrubesi up to the Bhote Koshi corridor. With this, most mobile BTS sites in the flood-affected region were rendered operational.
On Bhadra 15 (August 31), the Jibjibe and Saramthali sites in Rasuwa, the Benighat site in Dhading, and the Trishuli Bazaar site in Nuwakot were restored.

NTC MD Pahadi boosts morale of field technicians
In the meantime, Nepal Telecom Managing Director Sangita Pahadi had recently visited Nuwakot and other affected areas to boost the morale of technicians who are currently in the field for the service restoration efforts.
She also participated in a meeting at Nepal Telecom’s Disaster Management Center in Babarmahal, where she received updates on the service restoration efforts and provided necessary instructions.
The Managing Director Pahadi also presented details of Nepal Telecom’s service restoration efforts in the presence of the Hon. Finance Minister, the Minister for Communication and Information Technology, the Chairperson of the Nepal Telecommunications Authority, and representatives of the security agencies, among others.
4G services ensured for post-flood connectivity
NT says that several sites automatically resumed operations as power supply was available. This led to a steady increase in 4G service quality. The company has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the line ministry, the Nepali Army, all security forces, Nepal Electricity Authority, power plant operators, helicopter operators, local government bodies, volunteer organizations, technical teams from mobile repair service providers, media houses, and supporting entities affiliated with mobile communication services for their continuous collaboration, support, and coordination with Nepal Telecom personnel during this restoration process.
