Hamro Patro, an imminent calendar app has started a remittance service to facilitate Nepalese abroad transfer money to Nepal at affordable costs.
Hamro Patro’s remittance service primarily targets Nepalese living abroad who are seeking an easy route to wire funds to their family and friends in Nepal. The service started officially from this Friday. Hamro Patro App is the most popular mobile application in Nepal with more than 10 million downloads in the Google play store.
Service Begun Since Friday
Hamro Patro’s remittance service has come into action since Friday. In its first rollout, the service is available in the US only. From now on, the Nepalese living in the United States will be able to transfer money from their bank accounts in the US or debit cards to any bank account in Nepal.
Shankar Upreti, the founder of Hamro Patro said, “Our remittance service began from 12 noon Friday”.
The remittance service is currently available in the US but will soon expand to other countries. Upreti said the service would be available in Japan, South Korea, and Australia soon.
This remittance feature has been added with new updates in both Hamro Parto’s iOS and Android apps.
“Our overhead (cost of manpower) is very low as users can send money themselves through Hamro Patro,” he said, adding, “This has made it possible to send remittances to Nepal from abroad at a minimal service charge.”
Hamro Patro’s Remittance Promotions
As part of a promotion, Hamro Patro has announced special offers to attract users. During Dashain and Tihar, the customers wiring remittance to Nepal will be free of charge for the first three transfers.
Currently, the transferred amount would take two to three working days to arrive at the account of Nepali banks for the time being. However, the company says it is working to make it an instant transfer in a month.
Remittance is another addition to the gamuts of Hamro Patro services. Despite being inherently a calendar app, it has made leaps in services over the years. The latest news, astrology, share market-related affairs are regularly updated among many others.
