What’s in the Box?
The packaging of the Realme GT Neo 2 is very cool. Black is used as the main color here unlike Yellow which they use most. The logo is there placed in a cool way. The logo and texts placed on the box have a gradient color finish that reflects light and gives a premium vibe.
Inside, first, you can see the device itself. There’s an internal plastic case where the device rests. When you remove the internal case, you can see the Silicone Cover, 65W SuperDart Charging Adapter, USB Type-C Connecting Cable, and SIM Ejector Tool. All of this stuff feels of high quality when held in hand. This packaging from Realme is not usual for them but is better.
Ultra Smooth Display & Urban Design
Let’s kick this review with the most important part of any smartphone, the display. The 120Hz Refreshed Rate E4 AMOLED display makes you feel as if you’re using a flagship device. Scrolling through the news feed of social media is very smooth and satisfying. There’s an Always On Display feature also that I am a fan of since its introduction.
Plus, via the Realme Lab settings, you can turn on Smooth Scrolling and get more optimized scrolling. Because of E4 AMOLED, the contrast and color this display generates are very good. The colors in this display pop up like in a flagship device. Whether it was while playing games or watching videos on YouTube, the experience was always top-notch.
Moreover, the punch-hole on the top left corner disguise itself every time very beautifully. Due to the high speedy In-display fingerprint scanner, unlocking the device is always super fast and simple. Furthermore, in Display settings, you have 01 Ultra Vision Engine that lets you enhance the resolution of videos (Video Image Sharpener) and Video Color Enhancer that enhances SDR videos to HDR.
Coming to the design, we got our hands on the Neo Black variant. Personally, I love the Neo Green but Neo Black isn’t bad either. There’s AG matte finish with a contrast glossy look. The best part is, it’s anti-fingerprint and for people who don’t prefer a phone cover, it’s a blessing.
The 7 nano multilayers give it a smoother feel when held. Thus, holding this device in hand is very pleasant due to its picture-perfect combination of thickness and weight. Also, while using the phone and looking at the display, the device looks almost bezel-less because of its very thin bezels.
Superb 64MP AI Triple Camera
The 64MP AI Triple Camera setup is just awesome. I used its all modes and features and I never found a fault in it. Every picture I shot from this device was very clear and satisfying. Especially from the 64MP Mode and Night Mode. Moreover, the AI Scene Enhancer works perfectly and recognizes every scene without any flaw.
Especially in sunlight, photos come out with high clear details and high resolution. The colors come out very well in every scenario. However, the Portrait Mode throws out more color when shooting Portraits. It feels as if there’s a bit more contrast to it than that of Normal Mode and 64MP Mode.
The 8MP Ultra-Wide Angle Sensor does its job perfectly. The Ultra-Wide shots are very wide and expansive. But you can’t much zoom much to see all the details. Details in Ultra-Wide shots are there and so are the colors. Meanwhile, 2MP Macro Sensor also does its job perfectly. The good focus is there and details are very visible.
Details of Camera Modes and Performance
While talking about closeups and zoom, talking 5X Photos from Normal Mode is very pleasing. Even though Zoomed, details, and quality are there along with vivid colors. But the best part of this device is Night Mode. While taking photos with Night Mode On and Off, you can see significant differences.

Even in the darkest scenario, Night Mode takes the brightness to next level with all the colors and saturation conserved. The Night photos are sharp and filled with detail. Realme GT Neo 2’s Night Mode might have the best Night Mode in its price range. Also, when recording videos with Ultra Steady On, the videos come out very steady and stabilized.
Nevertheless, the Front 16MP Sensor is very good. Selfies are good but I preferred selfies with AI Retouching set to 0%. That’s because I like everything natural. When you snap a selfie with Portrait Mode, the color has more contrast to it but the background blur is perfect.

Extraordinary Performance
Besides the Amazing display and camera setup, the other aspect in which the Realme GT Neo 2 excels is in delivering performance. The Snapdragon 870 5G processor really delivers performance and efficiency to new heights. Accompanying with 3.2GHz A77 Prime Core, the device always breezed through all those heavy apps.
Expect of Snapdragon 870 5G, the device also boasts Stainless Steel VC Cooling Plus that is an 8-layer cooling structure. It has to diamond thermal gel and maintains temperature all the time thereby contributing to performance. Talking about performance, turning on GT Mode 2.0 from Settings unleashes sheer performance.
Furthermore, if GT Mode 2.0 is on and you don’t need that much performance, GT Mode 2.0 will automatically turn off. Also, you have Pro Gamer Mode for extra performance and mobility features. Whilst combining both of these features, heavy games such as PES 2021 and PUBG never dropped the frame or felt it was slow.
Gaming Performance
During the Realme GT Neo 2 Review test, I played PUBG with HD Graphics at Frame Rate while PES 2021 on Highest Video Quality the game offered. Yet, the Realme GT Neo 2 handled it like a Pro. The device even never heated also, even after 30 minutes or 45 minutes of straight gaming. The Stainless Steel Vapour Cooling Plus is just great.
You have 8GB RAM which you can expand via the RAM Expansion option in About Phone. You can expand up to 7GB in the 12GB/256GB variant but it should be similar or up to 5GB in the 8GB/128GB variant. Phone Manager is also there which helps you to optimize the device via managing various things and clearing cache.
When it comes to gaming, the sound is also very important. The Realme GT Neo 2’s speakers powered by Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio are just great. They are loud, clear, and feels of superb sound quality. As for haptic feedback and vibrations, Tactile Engine 2.0 covers everything. The new X-axis linear motor improves haptic feedback that is more powerful and responsive.
65W SuperDart Charge Technology
Going through a day with the device was never a problem for me on normal use. In terms of battery backup and power, the 5000mAh battery turns out to be a beast. However, if there was a 6000mAh battery then that would be icing on the cake. But to cover up, there’s 65W SuperDart Charge Technology.
During Realme GT Neo 2 Review test, the 65W SuperDart Charge juiced the device from 5 Percent to 97 Percent in just 30 mins. This means in about 35 minutes, you can fully charge the device from 0 Percent to 100 Percent. Also, I played PUBG for 30 mins with 6 Percent juice while PES 2021 for 30 mins with 4 Percent juice.
Therefore, this means you can play PUBG for around 5 hr and 30 mins with a full charge. Similarly, you can game PES 2021 for 12 hours straight with a full charge. Moreover, you also have different Battery Modes to save juice. You can just tap Save Battery in Battery Setting to save some extra juice.

My time with the Realme GT Neo 2 was rejoicing. I took it everywhere with me and each and every time it excelled in my tests. The GT Neo 2 is an overall beast that can kill all those so-called flagship devices. If I had the cash and wanted to buy a phone, I would splash it on Realme GT Neo 2 with my eyes closed.
