Starting off with the design of the Vivo X Fold, it takes cues from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. The design concept is inspired by the Chinese concept of “Round Sky and Square Earth”. Vivo uses Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) for protection. As per Vivo, the multidimensional hinge of Vivo X Fold enables the phone to withstand over 300,000 bends. Vivo uses an aircraft-grade floating wing hinge that allows it to unfold completely or be propped open at 60 and 120-degree. It is available in two color options Sunny Mountain Blue, and Sycamore Ash.
As for the display of the foldable phone, Vivo X Fold comes with a large 8.03 inch 2K Samsung E5 LTPO UTG inner screen along with a 4:3.55 ratio. On the other hand, it features 6.53-inch Full HD+ Samsung E5 AMOLED outer screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio & 2520 × 1080 pixels resolution. Both the screens support up to 120Hz refresh rate, 8000000:1 contrast ratio, and HDR10+ technology. The flagship foldable phone is the world’s first to have an internal and external 120Hz 1 E5 dual main screen. Both screens have a punch hole to house front cameras. Vivo X Fold is the world’s first smartphone to obtain DisplayMate A+ level certification. Further, it comes with the world’s first 3D ultrasonic dual-screen fingerprint on it.
Camera
Coming to the optical department of the foldable phone, the Vivo X Fold sports a quad rear camera at the back. It features Zeiss-branded lenses with T-lens coating. The phone consists of a 50 MP Samsung GN5 primary sensor with OIS support, a 48 MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 114-degree FOV, a 12 MP telephoto lens, and a 5 MP periscope camera. While on the front, it houses a 16 MP selfie camera on both inner and outer screens to snap beautiful pictures.
As for the videography of the foldable phone, you will be able to record videos at 8K@30fps, 4K@30/60fps, and 1080p@30/60fps on the rear camera. Whereas, on the front, it records videos at 1080p@30fps.

Under the hood, Vivo X Foldis powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset with customized SPU built using a 4nm MEP process. Vivo X Fold is the first to cooperate with Qualcomm to customize the development of the SPU security processing unit, giving the product hardware-level security protection capabilities. The chipset comes with a 10% performance boost in CPU and a 30% performance boost in GPU.
In terms of memory configuration, it is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage options onboard. Sadly there’s no external slot for memory expansion. On the software front, the device runs on OriginOS Ocean based on Android 12.0. It also supports voice, Jovi homepage, smart vision, Jovi InCar (smart car), and other functions.

Now talking about the battery prowess of the phone, Vivo X Fold boasts a non-removable 4,600mAh battery. It also supports 66W fast charging technology. The tablet supports a USB Type-C 2.0 port to charge. The device also comes with 50W fast wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging. The brand claims that the phone charges full up to 100% within 53 minutes. Vivo X Fold offers up to 20.55 hrs of continuous call, and 13.5 hrs of video playback once the battery is filled.
