Nepal Telecom, the government-owned telecom service provider has partnered with Win Nepal Pvt Ltd. for video streaming services in Nepal. The mobile app named WOWtime will be provided exclusively with Nepal Telecom (NTC) network. The Wow time app is available for download for Ntc users from Ashoj 3, 2074 (Tuesday). As they say, WOWTime is the first Linear TV & VOD (video on demand) OTT (over the top) service to tie up with Nepal’s largest and oldest Telecommunication, Nepal Telecom. Any subscriber can access the WOWTime application either through WiFi or cellular data connection from mobile but subscription will be granted only to active mobile users of Nepal Telecom. At least you need to register from Nepal Telecom’s mobile number to use the OTT service.

Features in Wowtime app of Ntc
After the registration of the subscriber in the WOW TIME app, you will be able to access features like
- Live TV channels: There are altogether 130 TV channels including Nepal, Hindi, and Foreign channels.
- On-Demand Videos: Music videos, funny clips, how-to videos
- Movies: Nepali movies and more in the app.
- FM / News: Radio stations of Nepal and the latest News streaming.
The above services can be accessed from either Wi-Fi or mobile data connection but require an NTC mobile number for registration.
After some time of launching the application and getting feedback from their valued customers, WOWTIME will be adding new features for the entertainment of their subscribers. The TV channel numbers can also be increased later as per the customers’ requirement.
Free video streaming with WOWtime in Ntc
Right now, it is free to use the features of the app but the regular data charges apply for video, movie, and FM streaming services. If you use the WiFi for this app, then you won’t be charged with the data charges. The app users will be free for a month, as they are only providing free due to the first launch and the festival time. Later, they will add subscription on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis for the usage of the content.

Download WoWtime app for video streaming in Ntc
The WOW time, powered by Ntc is available for download in both the Android play store and Apple iOS store. For Apple users, just go to the apple store and search for WOWtime to download the application. You can also download it from the WOWTime app on iOS.
How to register the WOWTime app with the NTC number?
To register the app for your NTC GSM/ CDMA prepaid or postpaid SIM, here are the steps to follow.
- First You just need to download the app,
- Open the app and click sign in with Nepal Telecom.
- Enter your Name and number in the registration, you will get a password instantly in your number.
- Put the one time password that you get.
- Then you are done with the registration. Now you can access all the TV channels, on-demand videos, and more from the app.

WOWtime vs NetTV app:
This WOWtime app is the first of its kind in Nepal but another similar app like NetTV is already there for some time. NetTV is already streaming TV channels (IPTV) with Fiber to the home technology in private ISP and there are also some packages with Ncell to watch the videos on an hourly basis. The TV packages of Ncell in NetTV did not go well. Let’s see how this new video streaming app in Ntc goes. It all depends on the quality, content, speed of the video service, and not forgetting the cost of watching the videos. But for now, you can enjoy the videos streaming for free.

Earlier, Ntc had talked about this sort of application for video streaming services. Now, they have powered this app to bring the OTT service to Nepalese customers.
