Poco launched the new smartphone dubbed POCO M3 Pro 5G in Nepal. The mid-range smartphone is the first device in the company’s M-lineup with 5G connectivity. The 5G phone now gets a new 6/128GB variant in Nepal. The brand has recently launched the Poco F3 phone in Nepal. Poco M3 Pro smartphone comes with many impressive upgrades and features. Poco M3 Pro 5G Overview

The smartphone is the upgraded version of the Poco M3, which was launched earlier this year. The phone arrives with some minor changes and tweaks on it. The smartphone boasts a unique design, a 90Hz refresh rate, 48MP triple cameras, 5000mAh battery, and many more features.

Design/Display

Starting off with the design of the smartphone, Poco M3 Pro 5G comes with a unique design that differs from that of the M3. It has a similar form factor to the non-Pro variant. It comes with a 3D curved back design and has a glossy finish. The phone comes with a metallic finish and a black patch at the top left corner. There’s also a Poco branding just below the camera module. Further, there’s also a selfie camera at the front in a punch-hole design.

Poco M3 Pro 5G has a large 6.65 inches Full HD+ IPS LCD Dot Display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. It also has an aspect ratio of 20:9, 83.7% screen-to-body ratio, 405 PPi, 360° ambient light sensors, and up to 400 nits of peak brightness. The device comes with a feature called DynamicSwitch that automatically adjusts the refresh rate and switches between 30Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz as per the content being viewed. The smartphone has Corning Gorilla Glass Protection on both rear and front panels.

As for the optical features of the Poco M3 Pro 5G, the smartphone comes with the similar camera setup as that of its standard model. The smartphone flaunts a triple rear camera setup with a vertical rectangular camera module on the back. It consists of a 48 MP main sensor with f/1.79 aperture that has a ½” sensor which outputs 12MP images with 4-in-1-pixel binning, a 2 MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture.

At the front the smartphone is equipped with an 8 MP Selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture that snaps beautiful and gorgeous selfies. MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC

Turning our attention to the intervals of the device, Poco M3 Pro 5G is equipped with the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset under the hood. It is a huge improvement compared to its standard Poco M3 version that used the Snapdragon 662 processor. It is an octa-core processor based on a 7 nm process that comes with two Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.0 GHz. As for graphics, the chipset uses a Mali-G57 GPU that has a frequency of 950MHz.

It is coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and comes with 64GB and 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage option. You can also expand your storage up to 1TB via a dedicated microsd card slot. On the software front, the Poco M3 Pro 5G runs on MIUI 12 based Android 11 OS.

Talking about the battery prowess of the smartphone, Poco M3 Pro 5G packs a 5,000 mAh battery capacity along with the support for 18W fast charging. It arrives with a 22.5 W charger inside the box. Poco claims that the smartphone can last up to 2 days on a single charge depending on the usage. It charges via the USB-C port at the bottom.

Talking about the connectivity options of the Poco M3 Pro 5G, it features a 5G network, Dual SIM slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.1, A2DP, LE, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, IR blaster, NFC (select region), IR Blaster, USB Type-C, dual-stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. As for biometrics security, it has a Side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and AI Face unlock on the phone.

Regarding 5G band, the phone supports 5G in n77, n78 (most popular 5G bands), n40, n41. If you want to use 5G with this phone, the telcos in Nepal should operate 5G in those bands, otherwise, it is of no use.
