Samsung Galaxy A72 Officially Launched In Nepal; Find Specs and Price

Samsung has launched the Galaxy A72 smartphone in Nepal that was announced at the “Galaxy Unpacked March” event on March 17th.  The new A-series smartphone lineup consists of Samsung Galaxy A52 and Samsung Galaxy A72. Nepal is among the first countries in the world to launch Samsung Galaxy A72. Samsung Galaxy A72 Overview

Samsung Galaxy A72 is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy A71 that was launched a year back. The smartphone arrives with decent upgrades and tweaks compared to its predecessor.

Design & Display

Starting off with the design of the smartphone, Samsung Galaxy A72 comes with a new stunning design with comfortable and sleek curves. The rear camera comes with a matte finish and camera module same as that of Galaxy S21. The rear of the smartphone is polycarbonate. The display arrives with a center punch hole that houses the 32 MP selfie camera on the front. The Galaxy A72 4G also has IP67 water (up to 1m for up to 30 minutes) and dust resistance.

Samsung Galaxy A72 flaunts a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2400 x1080 pixels. It also features a brightness of up to 800 nits, SGS Eye Comfort Shield, a 90Hz refresh rate, a 20:9 aspect ratio, an 84.9% screen-to-body ratio, and a 393 PPI density. It is Widevine L1 certified so you can watch HD content from streaming sites like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, etc. The device has an Optical in-display Fingerprint Scanner and Face recognition for biometrics.

64 MP Quad Camera Setup 

Moving on to the optical department of the smartphone, Samsung Galaxy A72 comes with some decent upgrade compared to its predecessor Galaxy A71. The device boasts a quad camera setup that consists of a 64 MP primary sensor with  f/1.8 aperture along with optical image stabilization, a 12 MP f/2.2 aperture ultra wide angle camera with a 123° field of view, an 8 MP telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom with f/2.4 aperture, and a 5 MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture.  On the front, the smartphone houses a 32 MP  Selfie camera with f/2.45 aperture. Samsung Galaxy A72 and Galaxy A52 are the first A-series devices to support Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).

The smartphone arrives with attractive optical features such as panorama Mode, Night Mode, single Take, Super Slo-Mo, Fun Mode, etc. On the videography aspect, the rear camera can record up to 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/120fps; gyro-EIS and the front camera shoot videos up to 4K@30fps, 1080p@30fps. 

Performance

Under the hood, Samsung Galaxy A72 comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor onboard. It is an octa-core 8nm based processor with an octa-core chipset with two cores clocked at 2.3GHz and 6 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. It is disappointing to see the lower chipset, the brand might have done a little better in terms of hardware. The smartphone is attached with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage onboard. You also expand your storage up to 1TB through the dedicated microSD card slot. 

On the software front, the Samsung Galaxy A72 runs on Samsung’s OneUI 3.1 skin based on Android 11 out-of-the-box. The phone will also receive the four years of Android updates and up to 3 generations of Operating System.

Battery and Other Specs

Samsung Galaxy A72 ships with a huge battery of 5,000mAh along with the support for 25 W fasting charging. The device comes with a USB Type-C connector port to charge the phone. It is a bit disappointing as the phone comes with a slower 15 W charger onboard. The smartphone is available in four different color variants like Awesome Black, Awesome Blue, Awesome Violet, and Awesome White.
