Samsung has launched its new Samsung Galaxy S20 FE device on in Nepal, exclusively on Daraz. FE stands for Fan Edition which is actually meant to deliver flagship for the masses. 120Hz Super AMOLED Display and Design
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE flaunts a 6.5-inch HDR10+ Super AMOLED display. This display has a resolution of 2400x1080p and features an Under-display fingerprint scanner. It is of 120Hz refresh rate which makes scrolling through feed smooth as butter. The display is a Flat Infinity-O designed display which means it has a Center Confined Punch-hole.
The design of the S20 FE is familiar to Galaxy S20 because it’s basically a toned-down version of it. The rear panel is Glastic which means it plastic made but looks as if like a glass. It has an aluminum frame and Corning Glass 3 protection at the front. Galaxy S20 FE’s finishing is very impressive and must be very comfortable to hold in hand.
The S20 FE has IP68 certification, so its safe from dust and water. Bezels are also quite recognizable but are pretty thin. The power button and volume rocks are placed at the right edge. On the left edge, we gave SIM Tray and on the bottom, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Type-C 1.0 Reversible Connector, and the speaker grill is fitted.
Triple Rear Camera Setup
The company has gone with the Triple Rear Camera Setup on S20 FE. But this setup isn’t as powerful as Galaxy Note 20‘s one. Instead, 12MP Main Sensor + 8MP Telephoto Sensor + 12MP Ultra-Wide Sensor is used in Galaxy S20 FE’s setup.
This setup is capable of 3X Optical Zoom as well as 30X Super-resolution Zoom. The device uses an advanced AI to pull in more light, so the shots come out detailed and colorful while in Night Mode. Single Take feature is also there in assist which is found only in Higher-end Galaxy devices.
The Triple Rear camera setup can record videos in 4K as well as in 1080p. However, the company has decided to hide the frame rate per second. OIS and Gyro-EIS are there to enhance the performance of the camera furthermore.
Coming to the front side, there is a 32MP Sensor confined at the Punch-hole. This sensor can record videos in 1080p as well as in 4K. The frame rate per second hasn’t been disclosed of the front camera also. The company claims that you will be a shining star of every shot and vlog with this 32MP sensor.
Power Packed Performance and Software
Samsung has integrated Snapdragon 865 Chipset and Adreno 650 GPU in the 5G Model whereas Exynos 990 and Mali-G77 MP11 GPU in the 4G Model. You have the option of 6GB or 8GB RAM to choose from. All these hardware runs on One UI 2.5 based on Android 10. Don’t worry though, it’s upgradable to Android 11 once it launches officially for all devices.
The company claims that its enhanced Octa-Core CPU can think faster than fast. The enhanced NPU also takes the performance to a new level which makes switching between apps seamless. Live streams are clear as crystal and so is the power great while gaming.
On the storage side, the Galaxy S20 FE offers 128GB and 256GB options. They are further expandable up to 1TB via a MicroSDXC card slot. Remember the cloud option is still there for you when in need. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE features are to be impressed.
4500mAh Battery and Connectivity
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE packs a 4500mAh battery. It’s not just a battery but is an All-Day Intelligent Battery, which the company claims it to be. The battery has the power to provide with juice all day through and plus it has intelligent power-saving technology to push it further.
The battery also comes with support to 25W Fast charging in an additional adapter and 15W Fast charging via an In-box adapter. 15W Wireless Charging and 4.5 Revers Wireless Charging option is also there. Battery power and charging should never be a problem.
As for connectivity, you get Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, Type-C 1.0 Reversible Connector, and 3.5mm headphone jack. It equips all necessary and common sensors such as Accelerometer, Gyro Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Compass, and Barometer.
Regarding the 5G bands in the 5G model, S20 FE also supports both mmWave spectrum and Sub 6-GHz spectrum.

Samsung S20 FE 4G Model is now available exclusively on Daraz where the checkout price is Rs 69,999 and Rs 74,999 respectively for two models.

The Galaxy S20 FE comes in 5 different color options; Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy, Cloud White, Cloud Red, and Cloud Orange. For now, the Cloud Mint and Cloud Navy are available in Nepal. Our Verdict
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE has already fitted into many fans’ hearts. But the question remains, why is it cheap or different than the standard Galaxy S20 version. First of all, the camera setup is lower in the FE version compared to 64MP of Galaxy S20. But the battery capacity is higher than that of Galaxy S20 and so is the front camera.
Galaxy S20 Plus variant is better in terms of the rear camera setup, Video Recording, charging speed along with more RAM options. But the thing is that the price is also higher. We can find the S20 FE stands in the middle of S20 and S20 Plus for some specs.
Samsung had held a survey and asked its fans about the features they care about. From the Survey result, they got three main points which their fans care about. They are Display, Camera, and Performance. So focusing on these aspects, the company deducted a few specifications and added some features to make the phone cheap yet it belongs to the Galaxy S20 family.
