NT publishes the works done for GSM quality Improvement.

March 28, 2013: Nepal Telecom has issued a press statement today regarding the quality of its GSM service. Though Nepal Telecom has whole range of services from Landline, GSM, CDMA phone to ADSL, WiMAX internet, significant number of subscribers (about 80 percent) are just from GSM technology and there are lots of complain mainly from GSM customers for their quality of service.

In the statement issued today, Nepal Telecom tried to assure people that they are working to provide good service to their customers, and their indicators say there is some improvement in their service. They even floated the works done for maintaining good quality service to the customers among which Battery Backup improvement to handle load shedding, BTS Expansion, RF Optimization works, Indoor Repeater Installation, arrangement of Shift work for staffs were some explained in the statement. NT whereas accepted the fact that they could not expand their services and capacity, in synchronization with the rapid urbanization and people’s demand as there was no GSM project in hand from two years.

However, Nepal Telecom has said that the running 10 Million GSM project which is about to change the old BTS(tower) with new BTS in Kathmandu, will bring good quality services to their customers. Beginning from Kathmandu, they said they will implement the 10M GSM Project in the whole of Nepal to bring good quality voice along with their fast 3G Internet services. They even said they will be starting new lines (with fast internet service) from Kathmandu in the second week of Jestha.

NT believed that with the implementation of this mega GSM project, they will be able to satisfy their customers with easy, cheap and good quality Voice and fast 3G data services.
