Global marketplace

Richard Yu, the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group said, “‘Privacy, under your control’ has always been at the heart of our philosophy,”. He further commented, “We place privacy protection and cyber security as the top priorities of all our business operations and strictly implement them in all phases of our products. We also have the strictest privacy and cyber security solutions in HUAWEI AppGallery. ”

Huawei already has a strong foundation for the ecosystem development, due to it’s large customer base worldwide. They will now integrate this appGallery with their HMS core to provide outstanding application experience to users.

They have been working on innovative technologies to bring the best out of their valuable assets, the talented 3000 engineers. Due to which, they rose to 10th place in the Brand Finance 2020 annual global brand value ranking.

Trusted Platform

HUAWEI AppGallery is completely secured and protected with a four layered detection mechanism. This will ensure the apps available in the platform are safe to download, share and use.

Other measures to prevent malevolent activity are verification of the developer’s real name and age rating system. This will help to safeguard children from such apps and filter out those unsuitable ones for the particular age group.

They also isolate the user’s data from being collected and used for several other purposes. They give full control to the user itself to protect their data. Huawei’s own EMUI can also help to better control such data with the app permission and are generally stored locally with the anonymized information.

Categories

There are 18 categories as a segment in the AppGallery, like news, entertainment, social media. All of them intend to provide a simplistic and smooth experience. You can also ask for some apps as a Wishlist and get notified once the app comes to the platform.

Huawei has also collaborated with News UK ( largest media company in UK) for updated news. They will provide daily articles, radio shows and exclusive materials over the Huawei devices to benefit user’s digital lifestyle.

Christina Scott, Chief Technology Officer of News UK said, “I think this is a really good long-term partnership we can have with Huawei. I feel there’s a lot more innovation we can do and really drive forward amazing customer experiences on that devices,”.

Innovative and smart experience

The apps in the AppGallery works better on Huawei devices to provide incredible capability. They use its own AI platform called HiAI with integration of software & hardware for intelligent and collaborative interactions. One of the use of HiAI is in WPS office to recognize text in images from optical character recognition.

Quick Apps

Quick Apps provides a new type of installation-free apps. The app ecosystem provides powerful functions and self updates for HTML5 pages. It also consumes a very little memory space due to the lesser amount of codes in the development particularly 20% of the apps built in Android. So, it allows to have more than 2000 such quick apps with 1 GB of space which is significantly higher than that of Android apps.

There are around 1700 quick apps available globally. They allow user to add their favorite quick apps to their desktop as well for easy access.

They will roll out the quick apps to more regions and access to global developers for the innovative installation free apps experience to users. We can foresee quick apps to go well with the proliferation of 5G networks worldwide.

As per them, Huawei will elevate the efforts to build a HMS ecosystem integrating such AppGallery for the better and smoother experience to their users.
